I'm getting ready to start a new campaign and I'm building a dread necro. He will be Lawful Nuetral and he will be using southern magician cheese to become a Walker in the Waste (DM already allowed it and I can be any race I want). I'm a lesser aasimar with the magic-blooded and unseelie fey templates and I'm looking for a template I found a while back that granted +4 cha with only a +1 LA. I'm also looking for ways to make him a little more cha SAD. Looking for a way to gain divine grace without loosing caster levels. Any help here would be great.

Fire-Souled is LA +1, Cha +4 and gives some other abilities including Leadership. It's from Dragon 314, page 23.

I believe primordial half-giant is better. It's +4 cha, at-will invis, and isn't humanoid. Unseelie Fey doesn't actually have LA and Magic-Blooded explicitly states it can only be applied to PHB races. If you're giving up CL, which I must strongly urge against unless you're using buy-off, Primordial Half-Giant is one of the best deals.

Also, how are you getting the spells known? The DN list doesn't cover most of those.

Actually Fire Souled is +3 LA in the actual magazine. And primordial giant requires you to be a large creature or have the giant type which is automatically LA +1. Deathtouched gives +4 cha and is only LA +1 and fits the character perfectly. I could go up to LA 2 cause I'll be buying off. I'll also be going necropolitan. The spells are attained by taking Arcane Disciple (Thirst). DM is permitting Magic-blooded and Unseelie Fey for my race and at LA +0

Deathtouched is it's own template after all the half undead templates in that issue. I know how buy off works. I can buy off one point every time I reach 3 times current LA in levels. You can fully buy off only up to 3 LA by lvl 20.

I'll go necropolitan and then be destroyed and true resurrected before taking the final level in WitW.

If I'm reading this right, a living creature with the Tomb-Tainted Soul feat can Charnal Touch him/herself for 1d8 points of healing right?

Yes, that feat is mandatory. It gives you unlimited out of combat healing. Thats super awesome.

It also means your "Burst of negative energy" power doesn't actually kill you when you use it. This is why its mandatory.

I knew the feat was mandatory and the reasons why but I thought since you were living you would deal 1d8 damage to yourself but since it's negative energy you would heal that instead. Still getting used to interpreting RAW.

The feat does say "You are healed by negative energy and harmed by positive energy as if you were an undead creature."  In context, that means charnel touch heals you with negative energy as if you were an undead creature.  And undead creatures get 1 hp of healing from each application of charnel touch (as the base amount).

But it makes very little difference, since even the 1d8 healing isn't enough to be worth using in combat when the dread necromancer's enemies can typically deal more damage in the same time, and out of combat she can just keep charnel touching herself until she feels better.  Whether it's 1 hit point or 1d8 hit points as the base isn't important when it's only consuming additional story-based time ("we spend a few minutes healing up before we go further"), rather than tactical combat time.

Fair point although it may be relevant if you drop to 1 hp in combat.

The only time its relevent is the duration enemies are dealing under 8damage in a hit. Thats "during some encounters where the enemy rolls bad at level 1" levels of matters.

Otherwise, its less effective than just killing the enemy.

I'm playing this character from lvl 1 until 20 and I have a level adjustment so I will have 1 HD till the group reaches level 3. At ECL 4, I buy off my LA and become necropolitan and drop back to 2 HD. My DM is allowing me to take the Bloodtouched Rite just before becoming necropolitan and the group performing the Ritual that will be making me into a necropolitan will be dread necromancers of at least lvl 8 and will have the corpsecrafter feat and I will also be created in a desecrated area with an alter to the practitioners' god. We also don't roll hit dice when we gain them we just take the maximum so that will equate to 18 hp per HD plus 9.

That's what I figured as well. He comes into his own later though.
