So I'm starting a new game, and it is an Drow only game. Now Drow aren't naturally fighters, but that is what I was requested to play. Now I really don't have much experience with martial classes, or their builds. I have a 38 point and the starting level is three

Now I don't want game breaking, but hopefully something to keep me in the game and doing some good damage. As for build ranges the game is expected to go from 3-10.

I was thinking a dextrous fighter, possibly two-weapon, but I am always open to ideas.

Swashbuckler would be a good choice for a drow fighter-type since drow get +2 to int and dex.

Will the players be able to use the lesser drow [PGtF] variant? It makes drow much more playable in general.

I think DotU had a drow fighter substitution feature, trading heavy armor proficiency for some bonus damage vs flatfooted or something like that. You might want to give it a check. Swashbuckler is nice, too, and if multiclass penalties are nixed a swashbuckler with a few rogue levels and the Daring Outlaw feat (CScoundrel) is a very decent option all by its own.

Oh forgot to mention, there is no level adjustment for the drow.

Tome of Battle rocks those levels.... hard. There are some really nice Warblade / Swashbucklers out there. Swordsage can work too if you want skills.

And in case it goes long, there's Eternal Blade.

+2 level adjustment, check the monster manual, or DoTU.

I believe he's saying it's one of this campaign's houserules. Good, though. They're definitely not worth 2 level adjustment.

Since I expect there are a lot of indoors (caves and such) areas in the Underdark, what about a Dungeoncrasher fighter?

A feral drow (Savage Species) barbarian / paladin of slaughter (Unearthed Arcana) / soul eater (Book of Vile Darkness) with the improved ability drain feat (libris mortis) two weapon fighting with +1 Necrotic focus (Magic Item compendium) Hidden Elbow Blades (Complete Scoundrel) and using his two claw attacks from the feral template as natural off hand attacks sounds fun. Paladin of slaughter was added for cha to saves (and coolness) but seeing as feral has a cha penalty, replacing with fighter / swashbuckler (Complete Warrior) / more barbarian / or anything else would work just as well.

This idea reminds me of an evil Guyver!

I pretty much constantly house rule a -1 LA.
That being said, Drows, even with LA, make rather nice fighters, as they have a non-trivial amount of SR, and there's really no such thing as "losing fighter levels", so being 2 levels behind can be pretty much dealt with by smart choices, having a bit higher Con score and maybe spending a feat on improved toughness.
Then you'll have, probably, best stats of the bunch, SR, and some extra bits. Light Blindness is annoying, though.

You get Dex to damage. I definitely recommend dipping Fighter for that one, especially since you have ways of making enemies flatfooted even after the first round (like one of the acrobatic skill tricks in Complete Scoundrels, some Shadow Hand maneuvers, etc...).
