But on to the build, I really liked the Darkmask PrC from Lords of Darkness when i first read it back in the day, but never had a chance to play it, now I do, but the problem was there was no good way to finish off the character, until I found this little gem on the Giant in the Playground site, the Divine Trickster http://www.giantitp.com/articles/5M5QGsJ5mpbLfAHduZG.html NE Drow Rogue 2/Cleric 3/Darkmask 5/Divine Trickster 10 of Vhaeraun Str 15, Dex18, Con 14, Int 15, Wis 18, Cha 16 (after racial adjustments) 1Rog1 Daylight Adaptation, Swift and Slient(bonus regional feat), Two Weapon Fighting(flaw), Extend Spell(flaw) 2Clr1 (Trickery and Travel Domains) 3Clr2 Persistent Spell 4Rog2 5Clr3 6Drm1 Divine Metamagic (Persistent) 7Drm2 8Drm3 9Drm4 Practiced Spellcaster (cleric) 10Drm5 11DTr1 12DTr2 Improved Two Weapon Fighting 13DTr3 14DTr4 15DTr5 Skewer Foe 16DTr6 17Dtr7 18Dtr8 Craven 19DTr9 20DTr10 Alright, our DM is letting all the players use the LA buyoff for our Drow PC's, and Stealthy has been changed to Swift and Slient as a prereq for the Darkmask. This build is just like i like them, simple and easy yet effective, with 2 base classes and 2 completed PrCs. My caster level will be 18(20 w/prac spellcaster), BAB +13 (wont matter due to divine might), +7d6+20 sneak attack (dual weilded short swords), and lots of other goodies. What do you all think, should i shift around my feats, alter them for something better? Really, just looking for any critiques, can use almost all books, thanks. |

You only have low BAB and iirc d6 HD with it, but an extra domain (knowledge) and 4 more skill points per level can be worth it. Also, IIRC there was a fairly cheap item that negated the daylight blindness, but I'm not sure what it was or where it was from... Dark goggles or some such. |

| #5steelwindJun 29, 2009 10:02:23 | Thanks for the replies and advice on the goggles, but actually Daylight Adaptation is a feat Prereq for the Darkmask PrC, so I wont have a problem in sunlight thankfully. I was wondering if maybe I should take Gr TWF at 18th and either drop Craven or Skewer Foe. |
| #6gorthawarJun 29, 2009 10:45:29 | +1 for using cloistered cleric. You can trade the knowledge domain vs. knowledge devotion which will add some to hit and more damage to all your attacks. I wouldn't trade craven away especially not for gr twf... that attack is made with a -10 penalty and unless you have a lot of bonuses very likely not to hit. And +20 damage is almost like 6d6 extra sneak attack (average 21). You could even use the gloves of the balanced hand (mic) which grant itwf if you have twf and spare another feat. Skewer foe doesn't look to good either. Is your DM going to allow stacking nightsticks? If not extra turning could help you gain a second or third persisted spell. Darkstalker is another very good feat for a rogue imho. |
| #7steelwindJun 30, 2009 2:13:05 | Yeah, i was thinking about Darkstalker, I figure that combined with a ring of the darkhidden would be pretty potent for a sneaky type. Also I may just try to get my DM to agree to an upgrade to the gloves to give me GTWF when i would qualify, so that would definately free up an extra feat. |
| #8gorfnad_the_shiznitJun 30, 2009 16:35:22 | A Collar of Umbral Metamorphosis (ToM) will give you Hide in Plain Sight and other goodies. Darkstalker + CoUM is really nice. |
