I am looking to make an earthbender character.  So far, I am just a druid (dwarf) who had only been getting(using) earth-related spells.  I also got a cool golem

Currently, my role in the party is as a tank, but the goal for the future is to build my golem up into a beast, and be able to use him as the parties tank, and I want to learn more damage spells (Earthbender type damage spells, like throwing boulders at people and making spikes in the ground (sudden stalagmite is a pretty awesome spell that I cant wait to get)).

So, this could be a very open ended question, so I'll specify (and probably ask more questions later).  What would be a good prestige class (if any) for someone like this?  I;m thinking of staying a druid for awhile to get nice and tanky, and then moving into a more magic oriented prestige (Ive already looked at elemental savant, was wondering if there were more classes like it)

PS Don't know if this matters, but my character just advanced to level 6 (still need to do level up, so can assign skills as needed).  So he's still a low enough level that I think I can mold him to anything.

Thanks alot for reading and replying!

Deep diviner (Underdark), earth dreamer (Races of Stone), elemental archon (Faiths and Pantheons), and sand shaper (Sandstorm) have more-or-less earthy themes.

If I were making this character, I'd probably be a cleric with the earth domain and the spontaneous domain casting variant (Player's Handbook II). Also, if I could get it allowed, the customize domain feat (Dragon 325). Druid doesn't have any problem pulling it off either though.

I'd definitely favour the earth dreamer for an earthbender-style build; being able to see and move through the ground pretty much at will fits very nicely.

Elemental Archon = Winner.  It looks much better then the Elemental Savant, and I'm practically already able to choose it :P  Just need a few more (1 or 2) nature knowledge ranks, and good to go!
