| #3archerpwrMay 17, 2008 22:14:42 | I'll take the lack of response as a no... 1) You're LoneFlame. Your rep precedes you. 2) 24 hours between bumps please. 3) Posting Guidelines much? 4) Are you completely unaware of the politics going on right now? 5) Anything that boosts fast healing. Healthful rest (SC) iirc. |
| #4Chaos_RedefinedMay 18, 2008 0:41:12 | Best way to play a druid: Throw out PH2. Everything in that book that relates to druids was supposed to nerf it, as far as I can tell. There *may* be some spells of note, but that's about it. |
| #5Dictum_MortuumMay 18, 2008 7:29:08 | companion spellbond is nice though. |
| #6loneflameMay 19, 2008 10:19:20 | 1) You're LoneFlame. Your rep precedes you. Judging by your attitude, it's apparently not a good one(either that or you're just not a very nice person... or possibly a combination of the 2). 2) 24 hours between bumps please. I find that if something isn't responded to within the first 24 hours it probably won't be(or, when the thread's about to go off the 1rst page). As such, I then assumed that what I was asking about either didn't exist or wasn't something that merited anyone's interest. Either way, I figured I wasn't going to get what I was asking for out of this thread, so I was merely declaring that I was giving up on it(though, not by my intention, it did drag someone into the thread who probably wouldn't have otherwise posted... case & point, archerpwr). 3) Posting Guidelines much? I'm not even going to touch on that one, since no good would come from it. 4) Are you completely unaware of the politics going on right now? Politics? On the entire forums? Or just in this portion? I'm curious as to which it is, even though either way the answer is apparently "no, I'm not aware of the politics" 5) Anything that boosts fast healing. Healthful rest (SC) iirc. Not a very helpful response... Last time I go that sort of treatment here, it was because to extent it was called for. This time, though, not so much. But, this prove what I was hoping was the case last time I posted something here. "Ask for the wrong stuff the wrong way & get flamed. However, ask for the right stuff in at least an average way & get hit by mesh of useless bits and helpful bits" It's kinda like the Class Boards(where I actually contribute on these boards), except with a lot more hostility to people asking stupid things. As such... No disrespect to those who are above average at system manipulation, but it wouldn't hurt to cut people a little slack every now and then(like the guy who posted the stuff in the next quote...). Best way to play a druid: Throw out PH2. Everything in that book that relates to druids was supposed to nerf it, as far as I can tell. There *may* be some spells of note, but that's about it. Sounds about right. Shapeshift was crap for what it cost you and Spontaneous Rejuvenation seems to be the same. Is there another substitution for the Summon Nature's Ally spells that's not crap like Spontaneous Rejuvenation? |
| #7runestarMay 19, 2008 10:30:06 | Sounds about right. Shapeshift was crap for what it cost you and Spontaneous Rejuvenation seems to be the same. It is generally considered a much needed nerf to bring the druid's power level more in line with the other classes. Is there another substitution for the Summon Nature's Ally spells that's not crap like Spontaneous Rejuvenation? None really. Summoning is still the best. Spontaneous rejuv is only useful as an alternative if you don't like summoning (as it can bog down the game for those not familiar with it). Less book-keeping, and at the end of the day, you can simply funnel all your unused spell slots to healing before resting for the day. The PHB2 druid variant is more aimed towards streamlining the druid and making it easier and faster to run. No more unnecessary delaying of the game by pouring through every monster manual you own searching for the ideal animal to wildshape into, or the best creature to summon, or confusion over what stats change and what remain when you wildshape or what abilities you get or lose (to be fair, I think only a few people really grasp how it works, and fewer are aware of existing erratum to it). |
| #8loneflameMay 19, 2008 18:22:50 | Shapeshift isn't bad(hell, I like the simplicity, streamlining, & removal of broken elements), but it should just take the place of Wild Shape, rather than Wild Shape & Animal Companion. From what I can tell, using a 9th lv spell slot to heal 27 HP over the course of 3 rounds is profoundly worthless during most situations. However, if one were to double or triple that amount, it would be a lot better. It would still only be 54 or 81(depending on whether you doubled or tripled it), but, it would be good enough to make the ability not completely worthless. |
