We’re planning on going epic at some point but that is far ahead, My DM allows the fallowing books: Core + Complete series + Eberron books + Players handbook2 + Psionics + Spell Compendium. I have no idea what to take for feat selection except Natural Spell. Any help would be amazing. Also this is a build to optimize Wild Shaping to be a large scale melee combatant. |

If your trying to optimize a Wild Shaping build for Melee combat you really should go with the Wild Shaping Ranger since they have full BAB But if you must be a Druid But as it has already been stated let me reiterate PLANAR SHEPARD It gives awesome Options as well as Full Spell Casting. |

What's even better is that you get to keep all your crazy WF immunities. If your DM plays by the rules you could snag some levels in Master of Many Forms and WF Juggernaut to become an extremely adaptable frontline fighter. If you rather be a druid, humans, halflings, and dreamsight shifter's are all great. Talenta Halflings should be familiar with all the fun dinosaur breeds right off the bat. If you are going this route, I'd beg your DM for MM3, the very best dinosaurs are in that book, and it gives you great Animal companion options. An important thing to know is that Wild armor imposes know ACP, so when you get into higher levels, when you'll be Wildshaped most of the time, you can get sweet AC (from dragonhide full plate and the like) for no armor penalty. |
| #5valdaJul 13, 2009 20:23:20 | I am playing a Master Of Many Forms in my current campaing. I am a dwarf druid5/momf2, just leveled up! i am looking for troll form.... till now i was a pretty decent help with some summons and entangle, nothing expetacular in melle battle. lower lvls riding dog was pretty much the team star ahahaha i reccoment this prc! |
| #6risnerJul 13, 2009 20:56:29 | Also this is a build to optimize Wild Shaping to be a large scale melee combatant. Druid 5 / Planar Shepard 9 / Master of Many Forms 1 Natural Spell Exalted Wild Shape (BoED - try to convince DM) Frozen Wild Shape (Fro - try to convince DM) Fast Wild Shape |

I'm a Druid 5 Mmof 8 It's fun but not nearly as good as it should be for all the lost caster levels. I think this class becomes its coolest at Beholder Form with Assume Supernatural Ability and its improved version. |
| #8twizted_leoJul 13, 2009 21:19:19 | PLANAR SHEPARD: I'm having trouble locating this I might have overlooked it somewhere. What book and what page would be nice to hear. |

| #10risnerJul 13, 2009 21:25:13 | dont get too excited... I'm a Druid 5 Mmof 8 I'm currently playing a Druid (Cityscape Swarm Wild Shape) 5/MoMF 5 and can't wait for level 7. Even without SQ's I'm having more fun as a Druid than I've ever had before. All this without casting any spell other than Lesser Vigor. |
| #11dougchJul 13, 2009 22:31:26 | you know. people who take any amount master of many forms AND natural spell just make me want to beat them to death, it is like "HEY I DO NOT READ." |
| #12tehlivingdeathJul 13, 2009 22:49:05 | Not really a Druid, but WS Ranger 5/MoMF10/Nature's Warrior 5 is a pretty simple build with easily met requirements (you only have to take one crappy feat, Alertness) and easy to optimize. Doesn't hold a candle to a Planar Shephard, but it's very fun to play having a lot of versatility and still enjoying some raw power while not being gamebreaking at all. I always play something like this when I know the campaign won't be completely optimized and I must say it's a lot of fun, MoMF is probably my favorite PrC ever. |
| #13flawless_pJul 14, 2009 1:55:35 | you know. people who take any amount master of many forms AND natural spell just make me want to beat them to death, it is like "HEY I DO NOT READ." What are you talking about? Natural Spell is an absolute necessity for casting while in Wildshape form(not that I do much casting) But really if you wanna turn into something without hands you can't cast spells anymore.... Just saying On a high note I love MoMF even if it is considered suboptimal, I feel like it got jipped a bit without the Supernatural abilities although its a good chance for the Feat to from Savage Species to actually get some use. Either way its a fun class. Especially to mess with your party members who are drunk by turning into them. |
| #14cruJul 14, 2009 5:25:24 | First level MoMF ability partially replaces Natural Spell, as it grants speech (verbal component). It does not grant access to material components and focuses though. |

It does not grant access to material components and focuses though. Precisely why natural spell is still necessary... although i suppose it could be house ruled to intend normal spell casting. |
| #16cruJul 14, 2009 5:41:24 | Although, if a MoMF dropped his crap before wild shaping into war troll and then collected it back, he could cast. Even better if he had the fangshield druid lvl 5 substitution level (wild shape hands). Any good nonhumanoid races for that? |
| #17dougchJul 14, 2009 7:42:05 | pretty easy to retain your focus or components, you know, free action drop your component pouch wildshape, then put it in your mouth viola now you got your components and foci |
| #18innabinderJul 14, 2009 7:58:12 | pretty easy to retain your focus or components, you know, free action drop your component pouch wildshape, then put it in your mouth viola now you got your components and foci ...At which point you'd need Silent Spell unless your DM thinks you can verbalize spells while clenching things in your teeth. Theoretically, if you restricted yourself to bipedal forms with opposable thumbs this difficulty goes away. Or, yanno, you could take Natural Spell. ;) |
| #19dougchJul 14, 2009 11:51:08 | ahh after reading it i must admit i am defeated, i had not really noticed it yay for not reading ![]() |

| #22sea_cucumberJul 15, 2009 15:53:00 | Also keep an eye on the thread about 4 threads up on this (CO) board...another guy asking roughly the same thing, and getting solid advice. not to knock the wonderful contributions already made by our most esteemed posters :D |
| #23pithicaJul 15, 2009 18:22:17 | Druid 5 / Planar Shepard 9 / Master of Many Forms 1 I don't think Fast Wild Shape is worth it, at least, not with all the completes. The 'of the beast' item set from Complete Champion grants the same thing without costing you wild shape uses. In it's place I'd add Draconic Wildshape. At which point, you're pretty much done, you could spend the rest of the feats on skill focus:profession and you're still probably the strongest character in the group. |
