| #1Slad_ChaosMay 19, 2008 5:46:27 | Hello, I play a wood elf, druid with companion, a young tiger saber-tooth (size M, 3HD). I would to create a character oriented "tiger" (or smilodon) in wild shape. The character want to fight often in a "tiger" shape. What PrCs do you advice me ? daggerspell shaper ? lion of Tasilid ? Divinity : Nobanion What feats, should I take ? My first feat : Fleet of Foot. STR 15 DEX 16 CON 11 INT 12 SAG 14 CHA 10 Thanks for your future answer. |

Maybe companion spellbond (PH2) for your pet. If you REALLY want to be BattleCat more than a spellcaster, Weapon Focus Claw or Bite, Improved Grapple and Improved toughness will all make you better at that role. They aren't the best feats a druid can take, but you will be a better tiger. I would also retrain Fleet of foot if your DM allows it. Longstrider is a first level spell that is better and has a long duration. You will be even faster once you get animal forms. Use your limited feat slots on something that can help you. Also, this may be set in stone by now, but your stat choices are suboptimal for what you want to do. Since after 5th level-6th level you will be a great cat most of the time, your strength and dex, which are your highest stats, will become the str and dex of the animal you are becoming. A melee Druid needs 1 Con, 2 Wis, 3 Int, 4-6 arrange as desired. |

Rest are mostly irrelevant. Lion of Thasid is ok, but you lose 2 levels of wild shape, and do not really get much for it, honestly. I agree that pure druid will be your best bet. Druid20 is ALREADY an optimized character progression. Anything you do will likely mess it up. If you really wanted, check Nature's Warrior which gimps your casting but gives some decent wild-shape buffs. |
