| #1sirsanchoJun 27, 2008 3:14:43 | Hello, I am going to be possibly playing a Druid/Cleric gestalt in my campaign very soon. I am looking for some good ideas on how to do the build out. Stats are (Can't be changed) :18 STR 10 DEX 16 CON 14 INT 20 WIS 16 CHA Race is Human, and the character will be able to build out at least 10 levels, but I would be grateful for advice through 20. I am looking to have the ability to melee well, but provide support for the others when necessary. Standard Gestalt rules apply (i.e. no dual prestiges or double ability prestige classes). Any advice would be swell. Thanks |

Druid 20 next to something like Monk 6/ Master of Many Forms 10/ War Shaper 4 would be a better combatant, especially if you went with a race that has Druid-favored ability score adjustments like Jermaline (MM2). A completely different idea would be to make a Cleric/Fighter archer, which your stats would be perfect for. Go Wood Elf, Fighter 20 with Cleric 5/ Ruathar 3/ Seeker of the Misty Isle 1/ Cleric 1/ Contemplative 10, get all the good Fighter Archer feats with all the great Cleric Archer buffs and domains, and don't forget Zen Archery. Use Cloistered Cleric if possible since there wouldn't be any drawback if it's gestalt with fighter. |

Melee combat? Healing/buffing? Summoning? Battlefield Control/Support? Pick a route, then we can start pointing out good feats & spells to look at. |
| #5bauglirJun 28, 2008 13:36:54 | So CaDzilla, then? My vague suggestion is to Wildshape into a nifty combat form, persist various Cleric battle buffs, and then use your remaining spell slots for battlefield control, with a few kept in reserve for healing if it becomes necessary. |
| #6sirsanchoJun 30, 2008 22:10:35 | I want the character to be able to melee well as our party is low in melee as well. Healing power should be there but not paramount. I would think the two would mesh well, but should I prestige at all, and if so, on which side. Cleric or Druid? |

There are few good Druid prestige classes as most of them lose at least one of the 3 pillars of the druid (spells, wildshape, companion). With a cleric you can do something like cloistered cleric 3/church inquisitor 2[CD]/Divine Oracle 2[CD] Continue to either finish Divine Oracle (immune to surprise!?!?) or get other classes. I recommend looking into Contemplative[CD] for a 1 level dip, Paragnostic Apostile[CC], or Ordained Champion[CC] (free quicken on war domain spells!). Radian Servant of Pelor is also an option if you occasionally need to heal. |
