Planning an Illumian Druid4/Wizard3/Arcane Heirophant10 etc (Probably Mystic Theurge)

Having a look through my books/threads here I can't find a feat that could do it but is there anyway of either replacing the stat governing Druid Spells to Int or the Stat governing Wizard Spells to Wisdom (So as not having to have eventually 19+ in both lines minimum and being able to concentrate on one stat? (preferably Int but eithers fine and good)

This character while I'd like him to be quite strong in himself (Having access to a heck of a lot of spells) I probably won't "play" him optimised. (i.e He'll make mistakes in combat). [He's searching for Rare Books/Plants and is very...analytical of all situations]

Anyway any recomendations for Feats would be awesome - As an Illumian the Runes I've chosen are Khau/Naen (And one of my feats will be the improve Runes giving me a +3 to CL). Also any ideas for what class to go into after I've hit level 17 would also be appreciated. My main problem though is having to spread myself too thin stat wise.

Your time is much appreciated. Tempus
(This is DnD 3.5)

unfortunatly, the only chance to "change" a casting attribute ar either geomancer (which i wouldn't recommend before epic) or the AshKrau/NaenKrau Sigils (from which you allready chose one)

allthough i would look for a sigil kombination with krau, that will help you as a prepared caster overall and NOT one of the "replacement two"...

As for stats, I would concentrate on the Druid Stats, for some reasons:

Monk's Belt
Save (imho > skillpoints)
early entry possible via Practiced spellcaster

finally, i would take another approach in terms of entry:

Druid4/Wizard2/AH10/MT4

Wizard 1 gets 2nd lvl spells via the precautious apprentice feat and thus you fullfill all the requierments für the PrC and still only lose one level of druid casting

Your casting ability @ 20 will then be equal to:

Druid 18 ---> 9th level spells
Wizard 16 --> 8th lvl spells

thus stat wise, i would concentrate on WIS and start out with a INT of 14 (and buy a +4 Item)...

long story Short: your build:

Druid 1 natural bond (get a fleshraker dinosaur animal companion)
Druid 2
Wizard 1 precautios apprentice (Complete Arcane sidebar), Augment Summoning (bonus), Rapid Summoning (Ex)
Druid 3
Druid 4
Wizard 2 Practiced Spellcaster Wizard
AH 1
AH 2
AH 3 Natural Spell -- Companion Familliar (you did not have to have a familiar beforehand - you just would have to dismiss him)
AH 4
AH 5
AH 6 Greenboud Summoning (even though its very late ... maybe exchange this with practice spellcaster ...)
AH 7
AH 8
AH 9 any Metamagic - i know its late but you would have to come by with rods untill then ... i would recommend extend
AH 10
MT 1
MT 2 Again, metamagic ... or any free feat
MT 3
MT 4

Things of notice: Play your wizard as a conjurer and trade in your Scribe scroll feat for the augment summoning feat and you familiar for the rapid summoning Ex (both from unearth arcana)
as soon as you are level 6 you will really only need sone items:

Monk's Belt with Wild Clasp (MiC - you can still use the item while wildshaped)
Periapth of wisdom +"as high as possible" again with wild Clasp
Headband of Intellect +2 (from level 13 till level 16); +4 (from level 17 onwards); +6 (epic levels)

Stats: (32 Point Buy) (the opt. way):

Str 8
Con 15 --> put your level 4 attribute point in here
Dex 10
Int 14
Cha 8
Wis 18 --> put every further attribute point in here

for less limburgian approch, keep WIS @ 16, con @ 16 and STR+CHA @10 - put every point you get into wisdom...

lesser pointbuys wil probably have a lesser wisdom to start with but still work

for rolled or Array Attributes, you Priority order shoud be:

WIS>CON>INT>DEX>STR=CHA

Well, as for two different casting stats, come on, +stat items aren't that expensive, you can get 19 in each stat with the elite array after all.

And as for continuing spellcasting, Mystic Theurge does look like an ideal choice, unless you feel the need to progress your familiar/companion/wildshape.

EDIT: Oh no, you said precocious apprentice... *runs to a nearby bunker*

I've always liked Druid3/Wizard3/MysticTheurge2/ArcaneHierophant10/MysticTheurge2, because it gets level 9 spells on both sides.

Greenboud Summoning...

*Looks it up*

Thats ...just....too broken :o Your right its the most powerful thing I could take there but its Hideously Inbalanced. No DM would agree XD

As for the rest thats coolio: Also I hear from skimming the Epic Level Handbook that you can continue the growth of Preistige classes once you reach Epic Levels? (As long as they have 10 Levels in them)

With my original build (but applying to everyone elses as well) would that then go like this:

Druid 4/Wizard 3/Arcane Heiophant 10/Mystic Theurge 3/ and then Arcane Heirophant to Infinity and Beyond? (As it seems to me AH > MT in all ways if you can get it) The only other class I know that can do the +Arcane and Divine CL is one that needs a lot of Cross Class Skills to get - Just out of interest is there anymore [Something Lutist?:Something about playing a Lute anyway I think its called]

Actually, it's not that bad. It's powerful, but not super-duper-borkedy-bork-bork-broken. The main downside is lose out on animal buffs, but those are some powerful spells. With chain spell you can buff you, your companion and your summons. You lose that with Greenbound. (Well, unless you turn into a plant, but that's a whole different story)

I've always liked Druid3/Wizard3/MysticTheurge2/ArcaneHierophant10/MysticTheurge2, because it gets level 9 spells on both sides.

And, its simple. Just about any DM would allow it.

There's nothing cheesy, no questionable rules, and only two PrCs, no crazy dipping. The only ones who won't allow it are the ones who think ToB is broken and Psionics is overpowered.

Oh, and the ones who realize the power of Arcane Heirophant. Who, in god's name who thought that PrC was a good idea? Take Mystic Theurge, then make it only applicable to the most powerful arcane and possibly the most powerful divine (so virtually no loss), then add in progression of class features, then balance it with some skill prereqs...

Well, without it, who would take Mystic Theurge (besides weird core-only project liches)?

How much of your character can you change?

AH, while fun, is not that powerful, FYI.

(Measuring by the stick of a straight druid or straight wizard with good PRCs)

At the moment I'd rather just have feat suggestions rather than "Change your Race to X" suggestions: Very Fond of this Race.

For low level Magic Items was thinking:
+2 Stat Things *yadda yadda*
Ring of Sustenance and Hewards Fortifying Bedroll (Total 5.5k)
No Food or Drink Needed and Recover all Spells after 2 hours sleep.
Ring of the Beast(8k) Get Next Level Up Summon Nature's Allies
Belt of Many Pockets (11k) For those Books and Plants Im collecting

For this build, I advise Spirit Folk Martial Conjurer1/Archivist2/Mystic TheurgeX/Arcane HierophantX. You need Heighten Spell and some shenanigans like Easy Metamagic or Metamagic School Focus to qualify for MT at L4, but you have spiffy INT-based casting!

Something that is unfortunate...

While AH advances Wild Shape, it doesn't grant it. Thus, if you don't have Wildshape leading into it, you don't ever get it. This requires 5 levels of druid, unfortunately.
