| #1tsp7Apr 01, 2009 15:16:30 | I want to build a Drunken Master and pursue it completely, to really get the flavour of it (D.M. is one of those PrCs you take because it sounds cool, but turns out to suck). One of our house rules is that you take only one prestige class, so all the minmaxing options I could find are not really an option. I'm thinking about taking some levels fighter which could lead to this: 1. Mnk (Stunning Fist, Dodge, Great Fortitude) 2. Mnk (Combat Reflexes) 3. Mnk (Power Attack) 4. Mnk 5. Mnk 6. Mnk (Imp. Natural Attack, Imp. Trip) 7. D.M. 8. D.M. 9. D.M. (?) 10. Ftr (?) 11. Ftr (?) 12. Ftr (?) 13. Ftr (?) 14. D.M. 15. D.M. (?) 16. D.M. 17. D.M. 18. D.M. (?) 19. D.M. 20. D.M. We play in the Shaar and without Psionic powers, which limits feat choice. So, any advice about feats and class progression to make this a reasonable Drunken Master within the given limitations? Thanks in advance |

The only problem is the alignment shift from lawful to chaotic but in my opinion a drunken master should be allowed to become chaotic anyways. cheers ![]() Gorthawar |

I would use a Tattood Monk rather than a Drunken Master if you are going Monk PrC way.. |

Consider how attached you are to actually running as a full DM, and also whether or not you desire to actually play as a monk. Further, is tome of battle allowed? I don't mean to sound like a broken record, but warblade is to fighter as cleric is to adept. |
| #6smurphApr 01, 2009 23:29:39 | Levels in Warblade should give you stances/maneuvers that boost your charge, in addition to filling the "fighter" role. As a DM, your charge is your best option. That, and the hilarity of wielding tables and assorted miscellanea. |

| #8tsp7Apr 03, 2009 7:49:52 | Thanks for all the help, it was very useful! Unfortunately Tome of Battle is out, so I decided to stay fighter (we do to much roleplaying to really accept a shift to barbarian, though that would have been great!) So this is what I have now, any advice on the feats? 1. Mnk (Stunning Fist, Dodge, Great Fortitude) 2. Mnk (Combat Reflexes) 3. Mnk (Weapon focus: natural) 4. Mnk 5. Mnk 6. Mnk (Imp. Natural Attack, Imp. Trip) 7. D.M. 8. D.M. 9. D.M. (Pounce/Lion Tribe Warrior) 10. Ftr (Rapid Stunning) 11. Ftr (Weakening touch) 12. Ftr (Superior Unarmed Strike) 13. Ftr (Weapon specialization: natural) 14. D.M. 15. D.M. (Defensive Throw) 16. D.M. 17. D.M. 18. D.M. (Flying kick) 19. D.M. 20. D.M. Especially the last two feats are just nice tricks, so if anyone knows a better use for those two feat slots.... |
| #9chibishuffleApr 03, 2009 8:27:47 | This is totally random but: dwarf monk 2/ knight 5/ DM 4/dwarven defender 9 1:dodge 3: great fortitude 6: endurance 9: toughness (as about using imp toughness from CW) 12: 15: 18: Use the cityscape web enhancement to exchange ride for tumble all around to meet tumble reqs. Please understand this is not optimized in anyway shape or form what is though is hillarious. He uses drink like a demon to up his CON and drop his WIS and INT into the ground then he takes on a defensive stance. with huge reach from a ladder as an improvised weapon and the knights vigilant defender and knights challenge. So he stands there on the battle field swearing and gesturing at his opponents who get so angry they attack him. Given his impressive CON from DD and DM he has the HP to take the hits. In short greatest Knight ever. In essence this guy gets paid to stand around and drink all day. Who wouldn't want that job? |
