| #1thehatFeb 23, 2010 2:40:38 | Right, so I'm trying to come up with the concept of a dual-pistol using Ranger. The DMG has rules for a revolver, and I figure use two of them, the character concept being she created the guns herself along with the ammo. My question is, should I concentrate on TWF, or does it fall under different feats? Also, What kind of racial combo would work with an LA of +3 max? |

| #3thehatFeb 25, 2010 15:50:03 | Marrulurk race, Hit-and-Run Tactics Variant Fighter, Targetteer DrM Specialist Fighter, Sniping mechanic, Dead Eye feat, Hm, not sure about the Marrulurk race, though I can see where the Point Blank and Rapid Shot feats are needed. Where is the Targetteer DrM Specialist Fighter book from, and what do you mean by the Sniping Mechanic? So far, it looks like I'll be needing a two dip fighter level at the LEAST, along with some levels in Scout, unless Scout is the only class I'll be going in with two levels of Ranger as a dip. |

Dragon Magazine #310 - lots of nice Fighter ACFs in that one. |
| #7thehatFeb 26, 2010 14:27:57 | Alright, so with the Hit-and-run 1st level ACF, and being the Targetteer specialist... I am thinking fighter 2/Ranger 2(?)/Scout ? I'm not sure how many I should put into each level, and as for the race... Not sure as well. I am thinking +3 LA maximum via templates, but I want to try to avoid as much monstrous HD as I can. Here's what I got so far: Race: Wildcat (RotW) +4 dex, +2 cha, 40 landspeed, +1 LA Templates: Unseelie Fey (Dragon Compendium) -2 str, +2 dex, -2 con, +2 cha, DR/cold iron, fey type. +0 LA Magic Blooded (Dragon Magazine) -2 wis, +2 cha. +0 LA For now we have -2 str, +6 dex, -2 con, +0 int, -2 wis, and +6 cha, with 2 LA left to potentially add on. Since its a fey type, we can add on the "Beauty's Bounty" feat from this page to make our charisma mod our con, giving us plenty of nifty HP. The levels that would be preferred is the hard part. On one hand, with the Cyran Gliding Boots we can take 10ft steps as a free action, and get a whole bunch of nifty damage that way. On the other, we could just simply dump more into fighter or ranger for a bigger BaB and to gain more feats, which I'm sure this build is in desperate need of. We're allowed two flaws though, so who knows. As for the properties on the gun... I'm thinking +5 with Force and Splitting? We could make it +4 to put on Distance in its place, but I'm not sure, depends on if people think it's worth it or not. |

| #9thehatMar 01, 2010 12:34:53 | 1. I'm missing why you're boosting CHA. I'm mostly boosting CHA for the sake of that one Beauty's Bounty feat. Since the Unseelie Fey template turns my type into a fey (and also gives an ability which lets me lower all enemy saves within 5ft by my charisma mod), I can benefit from it... which lets me use my charisma mod instead of my constitution mod for bonus hit points. If I have feats to spare, I could always pick up Unearthly Grace and Unearthly Luck from the Book of Fey to add my charisma mod to my deflection AC and all saves, too. |
