Ughh, I hate coming up with names for the threads.

...

Right, here the request:
Can you suggest any way of duo of characters benefiting each other?

This was inspired after my last research on going necromancer while the other party member goes undead resulting in a blaster who's spells not only damage foes but also heals his friend. Along with it you could join the Death's Chosen (LM) and grant some more bonuses.

But that just one thing. My original idea was somekind of arcanist and his guardian of some sort. But that's not set in stone.
Any suggestions?

Well.. a few options.

First, you could make 2 sneak attack, sudden strike based characters, and then use each others as flanking partners. This has the added benefit of being 2 stealth characters, so most of the time you get to decide when combat starts.

Then you could make a fiend of possession, and have your friend be a big brute and posses him, and give him bonuses. The same can be done as an undead psion and have yourself turned into a haunting presences and haunt his sword/armor/ring or what ever. The 2nd option is very potent, as you will be able to use all your powers.

You can have one be an artificer, and the other be a warforged character, and then enchant the hell out of him.

The good old powerful combo is 2 druid summoners, and then summon a bunch of mobs each, and then start abusing "snakes swiftness, mass"

You already mentioned the combo of a necromancer and undead friend.

Another way to go, is making 2 incantratixes and then have them add metamagic feats to each others castings.

Do you mean you'll be playing two characters and want them to bother be support-oriented or one be support or what? Your question seems a little vague to me...

A buff-oriented Cleric, Druid or Wizard with whatever PrC you want is also good for supporting anything. From what I've heard, the War Weaver PrC is absolutely fantastic for that.

Or, you could always play Bard or Dragon Shaman. They're both very support-oriented with Dragon Shaman being a bit more combat-focused. (I play a Dragon Shaman and it is tons of fun, while still adds plenty to the party.)

There's my suggestions for support-oriented. If you just wanted a pair that would work well together, there's plenty more options out there...

One word... Fusion!
If you want something more productive, I can roll something up. What levels?

What about Body outside of Body and Fusion for even more win?

Or is that considered so cheesy as to be completely broken?

I think what the OP's asking for is, in fact, 2 character builds, that while they won't function at a usable level independently, will be reasonably powerful when paired together and run by one player. I don't have any suggestions but I like to help people and I think this is a clearer phrasing of what I think he intended.

eerrrr... no. Sorry on the lack of info by my side. I'm thinking of this for both my character and my friends character. The idea is that our characaters will contemplate (sp?) each other.
Still, that way is viable too. I guess.

Fusion -

Broken or not, this is not so much fun to play as one of th duo loses ability to control his character. While the idea is niffy, I'll say no.
This includes also psion hunting and the like.

The booster+blaster pair is well known. I was wondering if there's anything better that can be made. Think of it as the difference between 2 fighter standing together and 2 fighter standing together with the allied shield feat. Or fling ally + Imp. bull rush. I dunno... still barinstorming.

Master Blaster runs Bartertown! :D

For fiend of possesion, undead psion thing refer to fusion ^.

The 2 sneakers is plenty extra of damage but beyond that it is of no other value.
The others ideas are good. I definitly like the warforged thing.
Shouldn't the incantratix should pair with a cleric?

One could be a Wu Jen / Incantatrix gish, and the other a mass-buffer. One creates a phalanx of minions with Persistent Body Outside Body, the other leads them into battle.

Well, you might already know this, and if so, excuse me. But, an undead psion who becomes a haunting presence is still very much his own character. You just haunt an object that your friend takes with him. To all outside observers he is basically just a gish with extra actions. You will be able to use a few of your buffs on him, but other then that you can blast/mess/screw so much you want.

Fun starts when your friend takes credit for the mayhem you make, and many times the enemy will make false assumption and start using tactics like doing int/wis/cha damage to him to shut down his "spell casting". Also, most of the damage, both HP and ability damage and so on, you can remedy, and he will be a force to be reckoned with.

I'm just pointing this out again, mostly be course iv been the undead psion in the past, and it was oodles of fun, just make sure you get along with your friend, and he is up for it.

For added amusement, change psion, to "killer gnome" illusionist, and i promise you will have nothing but fun.

Twin Dragons (two Dragon Shamans, that is) make for a good pair. Several of the auras "stack" (in that they occur twice and affect, such as the healing or reflective damage). They do good support, so if they back each other, they are very enduring (healing of all times on demand). Also, with two, their breath weapons come up twice as often. I would suggest two different element types, however, to overcome foes with resistance. However, being immune to each others fire cones is handy, too.

Monster Factory (Wiz/Sorc and Druid) - This is an indirect damage group (to begin with). Invis-a-summon means monsters and animals keep popping up with nothing but strange chanting for the empty room. Silent spell makes it deadly. About the time Invisibility stops being a good defense while the two of you summon all day long, Improved Invisibility lets you add in some extra power. If you have a group of PCs with you, you can also buff and heal with near impunity.

The Craft Factory (same as above) - IF you run in a campaign with average wealth AND downtime is not a big deal, then a Drd/Wiz combo can craft most any item in the game. They can split the craft feats, since you don't have to have the spell, just have it cast (Wand of CLW off the Drd's spells and the Wiz's feat, though that takes both of their down times).

The Scarecrow and Mrs. King - (Twin Rogues) - This was mentioned before, but it goes well beyond double sneak attacks. No one Rogue is ever complete. With two Rogues, both can be sneaky and mobile, but one can focus on traps, locks, and Knowledge while the other can focus on appraisal, people skills, and UMD. Together they can max out most every skill. They can go anywhere, anytime, and do anything. Crash the Princesses' wedding? Sure. Scarecrow bluffs his way in with Mrs. King. Open up the King's safe, Mrs. King has a hairpin for that, while he chats up the Princess (and Sleights off that diamond ring she isn't use to wearing yet). Then they both Hide under the stairs while the guards rush by, Climb up the drapes to the high windows, Jump down into the moat, Swim across to the getaway horses.

Double Barreled Shotgun - (two sorc/warmages) - I suggest two Sorcs, but a Sorc/Warmage can work as well. The idea is to throw IT down the field hard and often. Have a good mix of saves (Will for tanks, Ref for casters, and Fort for utility), a good mix of answers (direct damage, save or die/disable), and at least one or two good "get out of Dodge" spells (Exp Retreat, Invis, Fly, Teleport, etc). Show up, blast it, and flee if it doesn't die. Two LV8 Improved Invisibility, Flying, Fireball flinging, Magic Missile-ing, Scorching Raying, Sorcerers have more bang than most encounters have buck.

Doom Squad - (A combo of Dread Necromancers, Necromancers, and (Un)Death Clerics). DN and Cleric is my choice for best, but you can make most any combo work. The real trick is finding some nice undead dungeons or other necros to steal undead from. At LV2, hitting four skeletons with a Command and walking away with them is like scoring 200gp for nothing. You will want one person to focus on creation (corpse crafter feats) and the other on negative energy (to repair damaged minions, and particularly later on, with area affect negative energy spells). There are several ways to get negative energy to heal you as well, and it is worth while (a negative energy burst skeleton can be sacrificed like a 50gp potion that heals everyone).

Psionic sword and BSF.

Or Psionic sandwich and BSF.

Both are good, one just involves Manifesting lunch, the other attacking and Manifesting.
