| #1beyond_lustApr 23, 2008 16:41:12 | So as my first post on these boards (I usually just look around the forums). I come to you guys/girls with a rough character design I have been toying with for a while, so with out further introduction I give this idea… Classes fighter 2/Swashbuckler 3/Duelist 10/ Invisible Blade 5/one level of something??? Feats (in no particular order) Dodge Mobility Weapon focus (dagger) Sacred Vow Vow of Poverty (I really like this feat for some reason, it happens to fit in well too!) Martial Stance Martial Study Shadow Blade Improved intuitive Ein-hander Combat expertise The build is about wielding a dagger with no armour or of-handed weapons and…well going to cutting stuff to pieces till it doesn’t move anymore. So in theory I get int+dex to damage, int*2 to AC (max 5 on 1 multiple), some great bonus fighting with daggers, and some pretty decent bonuses if I fight defensively. Some problems I have encountered: The Martial Stance, Martial Study chain is to get a stance of the Shadow Hand so I can meet the prerequisite for Shadow Blade, int to damage with daggers. Should I instead just go with a level in Swordsage but that would mean I have a +19 BAB at best or should I simply drop the Shadow Blade feat entirely? This ties in with my first problem I need 1 more class lvl but what should it be? a full BAB to get me a +20 for 4 attacks a round or something more beneficial to my character? Some things you need to know. My DM has changed the invisible blade prerequisites feats to weapon finesse and weapon focus only (witch is why I don’t have Far Shot or Point Blank Shot. Thank you for your time and comments please! |
| #2carnivoreApr 24, 2008 16:57:29 | id suggest this: Gray Elf(+2 Dex,+2 Int,-2 Str,-2 Con) Warblade 3/ Swashbuckler 3/Duelist 10/ Invisible Blade 5 the last level of Warblade take @ 20th ... to get much better manuvers Dodge Mobility Weapon focus (dagger) Martial Stance Martial Study Shadow Blade Improved intuitive Ein-hander Combat expertise you can NOT use the VOP with this Build... as it does not allow you to use Daggers :D |
| #3carnivoreApr 24, 2008 17:06:32 | if you really want to use the VOP ... do this: Soulknife 2/ Monk 3/ Fighter 2/ Swashbuckler 3/ Duelist 10 Fighter sub level from Drow of the underdark: Hit and Run variant... Dex to damage vs Flat Footed take the feat Carmondine monk... gain full Int to AC for monk instead of Wis to AC Better yet might be: Soulknife 2/ Monk 3/ Fighter 2/ Swashbuckler 3/ Warmind 10 with Monastic Training(Warmind) and Tashalatora(Warmind).... thus gain Greater Flurry and Unarmed Damage as 13th lvl monk, with Superior Unarmed Strike: 17th lvl monk :D |
| #4beyond_lustApr 24, 2008 18:40:53 | Wow thanks for the advice :D I will probably go with the Warblade 3/ Swashbuckler 3/Duelist 10/ Invisible Blade 5 and I totally forgot about being a Grey Elf :embarrass I look forward to my DM's expression when he sees a dude with a single dagger PWN all his monsters as he weaves and dodges their attacks :evillaugh Thanks again |
