Standard Knockback build includes a reach weapon, Combat Reflexes, Dungeoncrasher, and Shock Trooper (since ALL of the special maneuvers are useful when combined with Power Attack and free Bull Rushes). Some variation of Fighter 6/Pyrokineticist 1/Warmind 5 is common for touch attacks, Expansion, and Sweeping Strike. |

So, if you make an attack with a PA of 2 using a glaive (reach), you continue to take a -2 on all of your attack rolls, be they iteratives, AoOs, or opposed rolls to resist a disarm or sunder. You continue to benefit from the +4 damage (from 2handing the Glaive) on all AoOs you make with the glaive until the start of your next turn. If a target provokes an AoO from you while adjacent and you can't attack with your glaive, you can make the AoO with your armor spikes, if you have them. This attack is at a -2 from PA, but recieves no bonus damage from PA due to its nature as a light weapon. I don't remember the exact wording on Knockback, but if it says you have to PA to use it, you can knockback with your glaive or armor spikes. If it says you need to deal additional damage due to power attacking, then you can knock back with your glaive, but not your armor spikes. Does that help? |
| #4noheatMar 17, 2008 16:18:41 | That helps HUGE!!! I'm trying to make a Dungeoncrasher and that is why I was asking. I was just going over in my head how it works if my build had a couple of levels of Crusader and the Thicket of Blades stance and then added the Robilar's Gambit later. Right now I'm thinking of Fighter 6/ Crusader 2/ Warblade 12, but this character is actually going to be a Thrall of my Thrallherd character and thought for flavor maybe doing the Fighter 6/ Psy Warrior 2/ Warmind type would fit better. |
