I'm playing a dwarven duskblade in one of my campaigns and having never played one before, I'm looking for some advice on optimizing it.  I'm looking on advice on feats, spells, magic items, and any prestige classes I might be interested in.

Currently, the character is level 6 and is built as the following:

STR 18

DEX 12

CON 16

INT 17

WIS 10

CHA 6

Feats:  Power Attack, Close Quarters Fighting, Leadership (Cohort is a 4th level cleric)

Spells

0-level:  touch of fatigue, acid splash, ray of frost, disrupt undead

1st-level:  ray of enfeeblement, resist energy, chill touch, obscuring mist, shocking grasp, kelgore's firebolt

2nd level:  animalistic power, spider climb, seeking ray

I plan to swap seeking ray out for scorching ray at 7th level.

I also have a legacy weapon that will add several cool abilities as I level up, including

tremorsense, bonuses to constitution, the ability to paralyze people when I hit them with it, and adds several spells to my list of spells known, including hail of stone, summon nature's ally 2 (earth elemental only), stone shape, giant's wrath, stoneskin, wall of stone, and summon nature's ally 5 (earth elemental only).

So anyway, any advice you have to offer would be most appreciated.

One, work on getting better spells than the duskblade spell list. Ew.

Two, choose spells that don't offer saves - all my experience with duskblades is that they have to focus attribute building on melee skillz and their int goes by the wayside, which means their saves become easy to make.

And three, work out ways to get as many hits off of each spell you channel as possible. I know when I was active on these boards a year ago there was a guy who pointed out that full Arcane Channeling says nothing about channeling the spell through a single weapon and got his DM to permit spell damage on every attack on a TWF build. Another guy multi-classed lion totem variant barbarian and used the fact that the phrasing on pounce says you get a full round attack and Arcane Channeling (full) says it takes a full round attack to ubercharge-pounce constantly. Me, I multi-classed warblade and took Jade Phoenix Mage, then used Combat Rhythm to deal spell damage from touch attacks one round and straight up DAMAGE the next. It's all about what your DM will let you do. Laughing
