Feb 01, 2009 0:53:36 I been thinking about Dwarves a lot and want to build a good character for the next campaign. I considering a barbarian,I never really get to do a fighter role. My rogues always seem to turn in to fighter types lacking the good hitpoints AC and BAB. I would like to play a character that is more useful then just combat. I was looking over the Barbarian Handbooks and crystal keep for ideas. I came a cross the Deep Warden out of Races of Stone. I like the fact it get skills and other abilities and is still a combat class.

I was looking for help with a good build that make the most out of the barbarian class and leads in to the Deep Warden. I saw that the DW get Uncanny dodge and Improved Uncanny Dodge and wondering if there were any options for the barbarian to fix the double problem. I thought a saw some where that you could switch it out for a bonus feat. I was hoping someone would knew it and point me to the right book. I was also thinking of using the class change from Dungeonscape where the barbarian gets trapfinging.

I as thinking for feats Extra Rage, Power Attack/Cleve tree Brutal Throw, and maybe some feats to do with charge. Please no Tome of Battle class suggestions. I am not fan, will never be , and don't want to deal with a alternative fighting system.

Feb 01, 2009 2:20:14 Deepwarden really does wonders when used with Fist of the Forest, because they both get CON to AC. If you want feral, natural feel to your Barbarian, consider it. Monk 2 is a good supplement of levels for this as well.

Also, 3 levels of Ranger could do you nice, considering that Deepwarden has Know. (Dungeoneering), and Heal, in addition to Endurance. TWF free is nice, when you'd rather not invest in much DEX. Coupled with Gloves of the Balanced Hand... ITWF for free.

With Endurance under your belt, you may as well take a level of Horizon Walker, for the sweet, sweet Terrain Mastery (Desert). Immunity to fatigue? Yes please.

The last thing I can think of at the moment is Steadfast Determination. Will with CON. All kinds of win.

If your going with Barbarian check out the Lion Totem in Complete Champion you get pounce . Or in my case I would just take a LA hit and get Feral.

That way I would get Rake, Pounce, among other things, including Fast healing.

Consider taking Horizon walker to lvl 6, that way at lvl 6 you can get the ((Shifting)) Planar terrain to get Dimension door as per the spell every d4 rounds .

Feb 01, 2009 10:35:10 2 Levels of Totemist is also very nice (gives alot of flexability), and if you go feral (getting pounce like this), you might also perhaps want to go 3 levels of Stonebless Goliath, and then take the barbarian Goliath substitution level (1), no everytime you rage you become large and get +2 more to strength.
