#1 demonprince Mar 12, 2009 13:48:01	Here is the description... Waraxe, Dwarven: A dwarven waraxe is too large to use in one hand without special training; thus, it is an exotic weapon. A Medium character can use a dwarven waraxe two-handed as a martial weapon, or a Large creature can use it one-handed in the same way. A dwarf treats a dwarven waraxe as a martial weapon even when using it in one hand. Now it says that a dwarf can treat it as a martial weapon even when using it one handed, we know dwarves are not large creatures.....so can dwarves wield these things one handed without incuring penalties? I am asking because I want to create a two weapon wielding dwarven fighter who is toting around two waraxes.
#2 pithica Mar 12, 2009 14:58:56	For a dwarf, a Dwarven war-axe is a martial weapon. So the short answer to your question is, yes, assuming the dwarf has martial weapon proficiency, he can use a Dwarven war-axe one handed with no added penalty. Note, though, that you will need oversized two weapon fighting to wield it in your off hand without increased penalties for it not being a light weapon.
#3 thedragonmaster Mar 12, 2009 15:03:05	The Dwarf basically needs only Martial Weapon Proficiency with the Dwarven Waraxe to treat it like he/she had Exotic Weapon Proficiency with it. The above poster has a point about you needing OTWF to lessen the -4/-4 to -2/-2 to attacks. Waraxes are though, like Bastardswords, really best wielded two-handed with a level in Exotic Weapon Master for Uncanny Blow.
