| #2Tempest_StormwindFeb 26, 2015 9:27:53 | Any class that requires skill ranks requires, in general, three fewer levels than the highest skill requirement. So, the shadowdancer, with its 10 ranks in Hide as a requirement, needs a level 7 character before you can meet the prerequisites, and take your first level in it as your 8th character level.
There are really obscure methods (frequently from variant books, so they're not always allowed) to improve that - bloodline levels can raise your maximum rank but not your character level, and the Primary Contact feat can give you one rank in a skill over your normal maximum, for instance - but in general, that's the rule. |

PrC has skill requirement: Need (skill number -3) levels/HD before entering class. Minimum level to BE a whatever/PrC1 = (Required skill ranks -2) PrC has BAB requirement: Need BAB level in full BAB classes before entering class. Minimum level to BE a whatever/PrC1 = (BAB required +1) |
