| #1cole_caecusMay 18, 2010 16:32:47 | Ok, so ive been thinking of making a character, level 10, for a while now. no particular game, just wanted to build it. So this is what im working on right now. Level1 Sorc(PA)/3Cleric/3Warlock/ 1 Eldritch Dicsiple, 2 Eldritch Thurge. Now, i know i lose some levels from All my casting, but i am doin this for fun, but my main question is this. Is there anything that would let me in to it sooner? i use Precocious Apprentice to get into it earlier on the Sorc side, but i dont know anything for the warlock or the cleric. I want to keep warlock and Sorc, but if you have a better suggestion for cleric, or a way to get into these classes earlier, i would welcome the help. |
| #2cole_caecusMay 19, 2010 17:51:24 | Bump, lol. come on, almost 40 views and no ideas? |
| #3max_kravenoffMay 19, 2010 21:33:56 | Oh damn forum, just eat my post. Ur-Priest is your friend if you want QUICK cleric progression. |
| #4cole_caecusMay 19, 2010 23:22:23 | Mostly, i need a way to get Least invocations quicker. I just looked, it ends up i dont get them till level 6, and i need them to enter both the eldritch prcs. |
| #5cole_caecusMay 19, 2010 23:36:58 | Ok, so question. If i make it like this Sorc1/War6/UrPriest2/ Eldritch Disciple 7/ Eldritch Thuerge 4 (ECL 20) I would have (If i calculated correct) Level 17 Caster in Warlock (10 Invocations, up to Dark Invocations) Level 9 Caster in Ur-Priest (Up to level 9 Cleric Spells) Level 5 Caster in Sorc (Up to Level 2 Sorc Spells) Is that correct? |
| #6max_kravenoffMay 20, 2010 0:33:58 | Mostly, i need a way to get Least invocations quicker. I just looked, it ends up i dont get them till level 6, and i need them to enter both the eldritch prcs. No, first you only need Warlock 1, since Warlock 1 gives you: 1 least invocation and Eldritch Blast of 1d6. Let me try... Sorc 4 War 1 Anything with good Fort def 1 Ur-Priest 2 Eldritch Disciple 7 Eldritch Theurge 4 One more Eldritch level not counted Warlock Invocations Level: 12 (2 Greater Invocations) CL 12 Ur-Priest Spellcaster Level: 9 (9th level spells) CL 19 Sorcerer Spellcaster Level: 8 (4th level spells) CL 8 You can play with Bard/Sublime Chord, Ur Priest & Warlock to play the Theurges, may be you can get even greater Caster Level and Spell Levels. Edit to add a new build: Sorc 4/ War 1/ Monk1/ Ur-Priest 2/ Eldritch Disciple 7/Eldritch Theurge 5 Ascetic Mage in Complete Adventurer make your AC bonus from monk to be tied to your CHA. It's not very optimal*, but solves the problem of save to qually to Ur-Priest. Warlock Invocations Level: 13 (3 Greater Invocations) CL 13 Ur-Priest Spellcaster Level: 9 (9th level spells) CL 20 Sorcerer Spellcaster Level: 9 (4th level spells) CL 9 A double eldritch build can't be optimal per se, but with Sublime Chord and Ur Priest that have better chances. |
| #7cole_caecusMay 20, 2010 14:52:41 | Sorry, i meant to say that you have to have Lesser Invocations, not least... I want to be mainly warlock with the others as bonus types of things. Like a Warlock with dark invocations and level 9 cleric spells, plus a few other spells courtesy of sorc. And you only need level 1 Sorc if you take Precocious Apprentice, which gives you a level 2 spell. |
| #8Maat_MonsMay 20, 2010 17:19:12 | Sorry, i meant to say that you have to have Lesser Invocations, not least... No, least is what you need. |
| #9cole_caecusMay 21, 2010 0:43:15 | Whoops... looks like i lied again, lol. Ok, so for level 20 ECL what im thinking is this... 1Sorc/ 4Warlock/ 2 UrPriest/ 8Eldritch Disciple/ 5 Eldritch Thuerge Then i would have, at level 20 Warlock CL 17 (10 Invocations, 1 Dark Invocation) Ur Priest CL 10 (9th Level Cleric Spells) Sorc CL 6 (3rd Level Sorc Spells) I would need a high Wisdom and a high Charisma, And a Descent Dex. Would that all work out? |
| #10max_kravenoffMay 21, 2010 1:20:07 | Whoops... looks like i lied again, lol. You need, base Fort +3, to qually to Ur Priest, with Warlock 4/ Sorcerer 1, you only get +1, you need a class with good fort to get that in the minimum time possible. |
| #11cole_caecusMay 21, 2010 1:25:46 | Yeah, was just noticing that. I might take a level dip into monk or fighter... But i just noticed something else as well. For Ur Priest, I have to be evil, and the main thing i wanted to do for being Eldritch Disciple is use the healing blast ability, which i must be non evil for -.-" |
| #12max_kravenoffMay 21, 2010 2:38:00 | Told you, you must be evil. Well Healing in combat it's not optimal, search for the "healing handbook" or something like that, or just check the Cleric Handbook, for some ideas to keep your party or yourself healty without spending your actions on it. |
| #13TifRhalMay 21, 2010 3:28:03 | I would look at taking 1 level of fighter and take the Dragon magazine 355 page 91 the armored savant. It cuts all arcane failure in half plus other bonus. |
| #14tr0llmanMay 21, 2010 8:36:19 | Warlock 1 + (lesser) Chasuble of Fell Power satisfies the 2d6 EB requirement of Eldritch Theurge. And it's explicitly legal. |
| #15gorfnad_the_shiznitMay 22, 2010 3:49:04 | You could just ignore the sorc and go for Warlock 4/ Binder 1/ Ur-Priest 2/ Eldritch Disciple 10/ Hellfire Warlock 3. Hellfire + Naberius is very nice. |
