| #1frerezarDec 02, 2008 12:28:58 | Just wnat to point out that i i realyzed i confused the name of the prc. It is the ELDRITCH THEURGE I am talking bout Ok this is my first time on the CO boards. So i hope i can make this pot adecuate. Recently i lost a characer on a faerun game. He was a blaster wu yen wild mage, and i tougt he was a pretty good blaster.. Until i stumbled on the eldritch disciple, so now i tin i have managed to make an even better one but i wantto know if everything works the way i think. This guy would be a human warlock2 / sorcerer 3 / wild mage 1 / eldritch disciple 6 (just want to point out that the DM is waving the magical aptitude requirement fro wild mage for some reazon) FEATS (not in order) enervating spell empower spell easy metamagic rapid metamagic arcane thesis (fireburst greater) practiced spellcaster Basically I'd use the spellblast ability to shoot empowered enervating firebursts at someone in the middle of the enemy formation and have it go off there (instead of having to go in myself). With wild mage and the thesis it would be beyond the level 15 cap for fireburst damage. And the empowered and enervating would take it to ofensive amounts then, plus the base eldritch blast damage. For utility i plan on focusing most of my other spells, and when i get to lvl 15 i plan on getting arcane thesis wings of flurry to also use it. Most WOTC books are allowed exepto for unearthed arcana. So how does this look? |

Anyway, doesn't that level in Wild Mage also give you a chance to hit below your character level when casting? Other than that, this looks pretty good. I don't know if you need the skills to qualify for your PrC classes in this instance (because you certainly need your extra feat), but I would consider Strongheart Halfling for your race. You still keep the extra feat, but you're a small creature with better Dex which will really help your AC and attack. I don't see anything wrong with your feat chain, but then I'm not a huge Metamagic buff. |
| #3frerezarDec 02, 2008 13:01:27 | Yes it is the eldritch heurge i was talking about. I just didnt know how to edit the title of the topic hehehe. And the wild mage lost of caster levels is balanced out by practiced spellcaster. Wich gives me 4, 3 to compensate from the wild mage and one to just compensate one warlock lvl |
| #4frerezarDec 03, 2008 11:22:52 | I guess the build is solid enought or its so awefull people just don't want to get involved. At any rate I like the storngheart halfling idea, thanks. That works perfectly for the concept of the character |
| #5Maat_MonsDec 03, 2008 17:23:08 | Don’t you need warlock 3 / sorcerer 4 to qualify for eldritch theurge? Whichever class is being increased by wild mage, I think you need one more level in the other. You have read the FAQ entry about how wild magic and practiced spellcaster interact, right? |
| #6frerezarDec 04, 2008 8:49:31 | eldritch theurge asks for 2d6 eldritch blast (warlock 2) and spells lvl 2, so sorcerer 3 wild mage 1 should be enought for it. And the FAQ makes it not as great but still a neat trick. |
| #7Maat_MonsDec 04, 2008 8:58:11 | Well, I’m looking in complete arcane, and I see eldritch blast reaching 2d6 at 3rd level, not second. Is there a trick to gain more rapid advancement that I’m not seeing? |
| #8frerezarDec 04, 2008 9:09:15 | wow you are completly and ofensively right. Well the way to do it would be then changing the levels of sorcerer for wizard and give it one more lvl of warlock. I think that's do the trick and eliminate the need for rapid metamagic and grab another feat. Humbly admiting my own wrongness (not a word) i shall ask. What feat woul be good to take instead of rapid metamagic? |
