| #1kerelisMar 26, 2008 10:21:37 | I'm playing a human Mnk2/Wzd3/EnF1 so far. I was thinking levelling up to level 4 or 5 in Enlightened Fist and then taking Abjurant Champion (means I'll have to take a martial weapon proficiency, but oh well). Anyone have any suggestions as to other classes or feats I could take to optimize this build? Thanks |
| #2tshernMar 26, 2008 10:41:39 | The problem is that you either need all martial weapon proficiencies for classes like Eldritch Knight or then you will have to wrap this up with Enlightened Fist. However, losing another caster level means you will have no access to 9th level spells in the end. I take it the campaign has already started and you cannot modify the first 6 levels you have? And Monks are proficient with handaxes that are martial weapons. That is enough to get yourself into Abjurant Champion. Also, you have Carmendine monk, right? |
| #3kerelisMar 26, 2008 10:53:39 | Yes, the campaign has already started...I jumped in on the spur of the moment after having not played for a long time. I'll probably just end with wizard unless i come up with something else cool because i've already lost 3 levels of caster. Carmendine Monk? never heard of it. Oh and thanks for pointing out the handaxe, I hadn't noticed that. |
| #4tshernMar 26, 2008 10:57:53 | Carmendine Monk is a feat that changes Monk's special abilities to be intelligence-based rather than wisdom. Can be found in Champions of Valor. And if after Abjurant Champion you go with straigth Wizard, make up the lack of BAB by persisting Wraithstrike. |
| #5kerelisMar 26, 2008 11:33:41 | Cool, I just levelled to 6 so i can choose Carmendine Monk, and I had planned on getting extend spell and persistent spell...so persistent wraithstrike would work. Thanks Just wish I'd known about the Carmendine Monk Feat earlier, i would have put less points into Wisdom and more into Intelligence. |
| #6tshernMar 26, 2008 11:35:04 | Yeah, put you are more likely to invest in intelligence boosting magic items and eventually inherent bonuses, so this will help you in the future... |
| #7nightwyrmMar 26, 2008 11:41:42 | Monks can use the handaxe, a martial light weapon, so AC is already covered without spending a feat. You might want to go for at least lv 7 of enlighten fist to get hold ray. |
| #8vicen_korelMar 26, 2008 11:41:50 | Why not go Sorcerer, take stalwart sorcerer out of C.Mage, get the martial out of the way, pick up the extra HP, Then take the Asetic Sorcerer feat out of C.adv (or C.War?) To get the Abjurant Champion and continue the rest of your levels with Enlightened Fist. Sorcerer 3 Monk 2 Enlightened Fist 10 Abjurant Chamion 5 This would allow you to use your CHA for AC bonus instead of wisdom, boost your Caster level and gain the Arcane strike feat out of the Asetic Sorcerer, while helping your HP gain too and gaining weapon focus for free. |

To get the Abjurant Champion and continue the rest of your levels with Enlightened Fist. I can't because I'm already playing the character as a wizard in a game...and I don't care for sor anyway. |
