#1 benthecarotte May 09, 2009 10:26:42	I will be playing a Succubus with Fiend of Possession 6/Paladin of Slaughter 2, and I am looking on what equipment is good for her. Ring of Evasion, Cloak of Charisma +6, Vest of Resistance +5 are given purchases. I'll probably get a +1 Stunning Surge weapon, along with a Mask of Lies(undetectable alignment is good for FoP) What else do I need?
#2 widow May 10, 2009 23:18:09	I am jealous, I love the FoP PrC. Your tatics will play a big role in choice of equipment. For example, do you plan on walking around and possessing enemies you come across? Or are you going to possess an item or creature pretty much all the time? For example your ring of evasion won't help much while you possess something since you wont be making many reflex saves. If you are going to do alot of possession and domination of enemies, a Veil of allure might be useful (Magic Item Compendium 145). It increases the DC of all your cha spell-likes and supernatural powers by +2. Likewise a circlet of persuasion (DMG) will add to your social skills if you are going the route of the diplomancer. The Spellblade (faerun somewhere) enchantment for weapons might be useful. It costs 6,000gp and makes immune to a specific targeted spell. Start picking out those spells that can actually hurt you while you are possessing something. Another option to consider is the weaopn property Necrotic Focus on page 77 of Libris Mortis. It is a +3 property that lets you do your natural level drain through your weapon. This makes the succubus kiss much better. Possess a weapon and drain your enemies away. Note you can also grant this ability through your fiend of possession powers, but there is nothing stopping you from starting out with a +10 weapon and adding another +6 of weapon abilities to it. Along the same lines, you might want a lifedrinker axe from the DMG. It drains two levels per hit and one to you. The soulfire +4 armor enchancement (book of exalted deeds) makes you immune to death attacks and energy drain. Those paired with the above necrotic focus lets you drain three levels per hit. I am sure there is more stuff, but I will stop there. You might want to list your starting cash for this.

As mentioned above, the spellblade weapon enchancement costs +6,000gp and makes you immune to one specific targeted spell. So take it a few times and wipe out the remaining spells that can target you. This is also a favorite for casters, selecting dispell, greater dispell, chain dispell, and ravenous dispell. For you protection form x problem, maybe you can make a custom item that casts greater dispell that activates with use (a possession amulet). You can also go with craft contingency from Complete Arcane. It works like a scroll, but you are actually enchanted. You pick the circumstances that activate it, such as when you try to possess and someone has a protection from x up.
#6 hijaxx May 17, 2009 11:40:54	problem with contigency spells are you need a new one for each time you have to posess someone. and contigency spells are not cheap. I'd just go with a custom item like you said.
#7 Balthanon May 17, 2009 12:18:39	If you're allowed items from Dragon, there was a Superior Dispelling weapon enhancement published in one that allowed dispel magic at will with a caster level equal to your character level.
