Hello everyone, I was looking for a way to recreate the divine spells and rage of a barbarian 6/champion of gwynharwyf 8. The reason is that a villain in my game is planning to replace the party leader (the above mentioned class build (I'm doing this with the player's permission)) with a shape-shifter (probably a succubus).

I'm looking for the best way to recreate, preferably in this order, these things:

1. These spells
Level 1: Bless, Cure Light Wounds, Divine Favor
Level 2: Bull's Strength, Eagle's Splendor, Remove Paralysis, Resist Energy
Level 3: Cure Moderate Wounds, Prayer, Remove Blindness/Deafness, Remove Curse
Level 4: Death Ward, Freedom of Movement, Restoration
They don't have to be at these levels, as long as the NPC can cast them.

2. The barbarian's fighting ability, plus her rage hopefully.

3. These spells
Level 1: Bless Weapon, Protection from Evil
Level 2: Warcry
Level 3: Magic Circle against Evil
Level 4: Blood of the Martyr, Holy Sword
Unlikely to be replicatable due to alignments, not really necessary for the build.

I come to the optimizing boards because you guys are the most creative I've found, so I hope you can help me.

Hmm...perhaps reflavor the class, and change the alignment requirements? Call it the Warmaster of Hextor or even better in keeping with the shapeshifter mentality, the Fellguard of Loki! Norse flavor, raging fits, and he's pulling typical Loki-esque trickery. All you really need is a backstory and DM Fiat, though.

What CR are you looking to do this in and what kind of restrictions do you want to put on the creature? Do you want it to actually have rage, spellcasting, etc... or just be able to mimic them with items and other abilities? And what do you want this creature to be able to do when it eventually turns on them or they find it out?

For a shapechanger, Chameleon is a very useful class and could cast the spells fairly easily. Or on the other hand, you could go with a route like the one above and basically just reflavor the PCs build.

I like the chameleon idea, and the barb/cler multi offers exactly what I asked for. Hmmmm.

Succubi can't be Chameleons anyway.

Yes they can. You're the GM. Reflavor as needed means reflavor as needed.

I know that, but I like to use the actual rules if possible.

Unless I'm mistaken, reflavoring as the DM is well within the rules.

What I mean, is that no one will feel it unreasonable if you stretch the rules a little to allow in a cool villain. I run games, almost to the exclusion of playing, and I believe that there are few arguments more convincing to players than Rule Of Cool.

The Rule of Cool reigns supreme.

Or you could just go with another shapeshifter, namely the doppleganger. I don't think it's a large stretch to allow another race with almost the same abilities as the doppleganger to get into the class either though.

Balthanon has articulated it much better than I did. My apologies.

Here's a convoluted one : make an epic spell using the Conjure seed as it's base, Origin of Species. Concoct a bad arse species that has the abilities you're looking for, only with programmed loyalty to X overvillain. As the PC's get closer to epic, start dropping hints, gradually letting them know that these things are actually living constructs of some mad epic spellcaster, and ultimately the final showdown on that plane (before achieving demigodhood) is defeating a spellcaster literally playing God. I think it would be cool anyhow, especially if the party spellcasters were able to ID the spell and then make a supersoldier of their own.

why not something Simple like:

Changeling

Blackguard 10/ Barbarian 4 ..... was Paladin 10 first then exchanged all Paladin levels for Blackguard levels.. then take Barbarian levels

or try this:

Changeling

Monk 2/ Barbarian 4/ Ur-Priest 8...

or add Frenzied berserker like this:

Changeling

Monk 2/ Barbarian 4/ Ur-Priest 5/ Frenzied berserker 3...

or simply:

Chameleon

Monk 2/ Barbarian 3/ Chameleon 9

:D
