Evil Outsider question

Sep 01, 2008 23:30:48 Ok so what is the Lowest LA creature or Template that awards a character the type Evil Outsider... and if at all possible a evil Outsider (native).

I dont care what the abilities are. It only has to be:

Lowest Possibe Level adjustment possible
Native Outsider if Possible
And has to have a decent intelegence score

I thought about Imp but he isnt a native outsider and I couldnt find a LA for it... im not even sure if its a playable race.

Basicly something along the lines of the Half-Fiend Template should work, but I was hoping for a smaller lvl hit.

Sep 02, 2008 0:16:07 Human or Deep Imaskari + the feat Otherworldly grants Outsider at 0 LA and it's even native, and Deep Imaskari has +2 INT, but I'm not sure how to get the (Evil) subtype.

Oh, and Imp has a savage progression in Savage Species, I believe.

A Dretch is playable at ECL 4. (2 HD +2 LA) But that's not native AND has terrible INT.

Sep 02, 2008 1:30:59 Otherworldly feat is indeed one of the easiest ways, especially for +0 LA. The Savage Progressions Aasimar or Tiefling is a Native Outsider with +0 LA starting out, and an optional racial level to gain the rest of your +1 LA worth of abilities.

For the evil subtype, you can use a Ritual of Alignment from Savage Species to gain it, though it costs 56,000 gp and 2240 xp and requires the aid of a Cleric level 7+ with that alignment domain.

Sep 02, 2008 11:01:26 There is a LA +0 Aasimar or Tiefling race somewhere buried in the WotC D&D Site. You'll have to dig threw the archives.

And I beleive it has been mentioned on these board before but some class in Magic Of Incarnum (I think it was the Incarmate) gives you the Sub type of your Alignment. I've never actaully been able to FIND that wording in the book though. So I hope someone else can verify/disprove that.

A kaorti is also ECL 4 (2 HD +2 LA). It's a bit smarter, but it's not native and there are fluff problems as well.

The Divine Minion of Sebek template changes your type to outsider and your existing alignment subtype to [Evil], so if you can find any creature with an alignment subtype you can add that template on top of it.

Sep 03, 2008 15:29:42 Neraphim from Planar Handbook are a nice +0 LA outsider, but not [Native] unfortunately. Not sure how to acquire the [evil] subtype, but I wouldn't be surprised if HoH had something that would do it for ya.
