Human Spell Focus Enchantment

This is my starting point, the character is a devout worshiper of Mystra and I have been tossing around ideas for possible a Favored Soul multi-class character with a dual advance class after that.

I've also contemplated going straight Begulier 20 or Ultimate Magus with Wizard....
The handbooks for this are pretty good I just wanted to get some current ideas.

ToB is banned by my dm as is Magic of the Incarnum. No Dragon Mag or Compendium, anything else with DM approval. Oh and Shadow Weave Magic is impossible due to my characters faith.

Aug 16, 2009 23:12:10 It is plausable and he agreed that it does get 10 out of 10 casting, but flavor is everything for this campaign so I would have to do the trek to the forest thing which would seriously derail the campaign....I will work with him to adapt it for a worshipper of mystra maybe like Mystra's Servent or something.

If so then we will be all systems go as longs as he doesnt get mad about balance.

It was my first instinct, but I wanted to check with people about ideas for the character in case this plan falls through.

Aug 17, 2009 18:55:29 So since I don't know if Rainbow Servent is going to be fully accepted I would like another Idea, I was thinking Archvist Beguiler with some kind of Dual casting class, not sure what would be good for this one. The Int synergy is really what attracts me to the Archivist instead of the Cleric or Favored Soul plus Dark Knowledge is cool.

Take Practiced Spellcaster at level 3 and you get 9 levels of Beguiler casting losing just 1 level of Wizard. Halruaan elder for reduced costs on metamagic - you can replace it with whatever you see fit.

Aug 17, 2009 23:40:26 Hmm. Mystra huh, are you sure? Shar and the beguiler's are pretty good together. A one level dip into shadow adept is mighty tasty. And the style points for being one of "those casters." It's always been one of my favorite characters.

Yeah, I'd have to say that Rainbow Servant is a Beguiler's best chance for divine spells. Otherwise you're saves and spell access will suffer a lot. Personally, I'd stick to being sneaky if I were you, but that's just my idea.

Aug 18, 2009 1:09:54 Actually the Mystra thing is a bit part of his backstory as the Church of Shar was controlling him since he was about 14, so he turns to worship Mystra after escaping from them trying to kill him.
