Mind you, I don't even want to look at the rather lackluster 3.5 edition, I'm going from the point of the 3.0 Tome and Blood edition of Fatespinner. For an upcoming Campaign, we're looking to Ascent to God status. My character going after the place of the God of Fate/time. My only thing is that besides the Fatespinner, I'm unable to find a class that seems appropriate for this role. The class to me looks rather appealing, regardless. We're playing with all 3.0-3.5 Books available, aside from Dragon Mag and the Draconomicon. (Meaning Everything within it allowed, Races, Classes, etc.) I'd love to read some critique, or if possible from the somewhat more adventurous, perhaps some build ideas. If one goes so far simply Assume Level 20, with the above books alloted. Thank you! |

It must be said that this campaign was both slow-paced and roleplay-centric, so I could get away with expending resources whimsically. I am by no means claiming that the character was optimized; only that it was a logical combination of class abilities, that produced a character idea I found entertaining. Some Chaos-oriented classes provide similar abilities to Fatespinner and could provide you with a nice twist on the concept of Fate (just because you have a destiny does not mean the future is set in stone, etc etc), while granting you a wider array of abilities with which to shape events. The downside is that Wild Mage is the only one of these classes that offers anything to a character whose focus is spellcasting. The only class I can think of that has anything to do with time is Swiftblade, which could perhaps be made to work. I doubt that it would work well, though. |

So be a Wizard of some sort, maybe Divine, get Fatespinner, maybe Geometer for more 'math' sort of things? Maybe Loremaster? Alternately, look at how many of those spells are Psionic, and Arcane. Maybe just be a Spell to Power Erudite? |

It matters I guess wether there is already a god of fate/time, and if there is, if you're going to coexist, replace him peacefully, or less peacefully. You could play a cleric with the fate & time domains, maybe later gain the luck domain (with contemplative for example). |
