Ease/speed of movement and a good death attack are most important, combat won't be as big, he's a hit-and-run kinda killer. Even a link to a previous discussion would be appreciated, and I'm sorry for bringing up something thats been here before, but I've searched using google and combed the forums and havent found it. |

| #3deathlessjuanSep 02, 2008 17:32:17 | Rogue 3 / Spellthief 1 / ????? 1 / Assassin 10 / Fatespinner 5 You could throw in Ninja to get Wis to AC, or (can't believe I am saying this) Swordsage to get Wis to AC in light armor (that requires 2 levels), since assassins can cast spells in light armor without arcane spell failure. Master Spellthief will help out, allowing you to steal spells and use them against any mage's you fight. Assassins get improved Uncanny dodge from class levels alone, so a 4th level of rogue is not needed. |

| #6unundindurSep 03, 2008 22:39:43 | Half Drow Bard4/Warblade1/Assassin5/Dark Hunter5 Feats: Weapon Finesse, Subsonics, Doomspeak, Ability Focus (Death Attack), Track, *, * With Bracers of Murder and an assassin's dagger that should net a Death attack save of: 10(base)+10(assassin)+5(dark hunter)+2(ability focus)+3(items)+10(intelligence is assumed to be 30)=40. If Doomspeak succeeds it becomes a whooping 50. Not to shoddy, and it can be done 4 times a day at this dc. He also have a BaB of 16, just for show ;) The half-drow is there to cope with multiclass penalties, and to grant darkvision). |
| #7angellusmortusSep 04, 2008 15:26:41 | Doomspeak looks awesome. I do like the looks of that Unun, but Fatespinner is what I'm sticking with for now...plus (even though its only once a day) if you consider your math, only change dark hunter to fatespinner and tack on +5 for seal fate ( -10 to their next save, but only +5 cuz we subtracted dark hunters 5) it becomes a positively horrifying 55 save, PLUS a fatespinner can make them re-roll if they succeed. Thats pretty scary. Thanks for all the stuff there! EDIT: Forgot to mention I like your feat run, thanks for that! =P |
| #8unundindurSep 04, 2008 21:43:04 | but fatespinner is only against stuff with as many or less hd than you, and once per day. If I play an assassin I will sure as hell not go after stuff with as many hd as me, thats not why I have a DC 50 death attack ;) THe re-roll though, that is neat btw, after reading closely I ma not sure subsonics work for doomspeak as it mentions your nemey must hear you clearly blabla. Anyway, subsonics is kind of silent on this point. I could see it ruled both ways. We could always try to do everything at once: Bard2/Paladin of Tyranny3/Assassin5/Fatespinner5 Same Feat-lineup but with Devoted Performer (if smite evil can be changed to smite good, makes 100% sense). It adds another +2 to the DC. It is tempting to add in a level or two of Sublime Chord, only to take better advantage of Fatespinner caster levels, but that would take the DC down by 2 in change o f lv 7 spells... When on it, one could remove the whole death-attack part and go for necromancy and full sublime chord:P |
| #9angellusmortusSep 05, 2008 15:08:54 | I didnt notice the HD thing in fatespinner! Ah man, that makes it twenty times less cool...I *think* my DM would allow doomspeak and subsonics to work together. since subsonics implies its own use on most things...kinda...anyway, that totally screws up the fatespinner idea! Although 2 levels might still be worth it if the "BBEG" makes his save, to force him to reroll...situational I guess. Well, time to go experiment with another idea! I've been thinking an evil flavored bard...dirge guy or necromantic focused sublime chord...thanks for the help everyone! |
| #10unundindurSep 06, 2008 12:07:16 | Those two levels are good, especially since you don't lose caster levels ![]() |
