| #1melil13May 12, 2008 19:53:00 | i have a 36 point buy so i am looking at something around Str 12 Dex 12 Con 14 Int 10 Wis 16 Cha 16 As stats .... i am debating going Asmair or Human ... the bonus feat and skill point vs the 18 wis and cha. Seeing as how i doubt i will be hurting with feats (mainly cuz i cant think of what to give him) i am leaning towards asimar. Skills ... i dont even remember what skill Favored Soul have. Skills i am debating how much i really need concentration or spell craft ... i may split points b/w them as well as split some b/w diplomacy and Sense motive (so level 1 2 in each and every other level i switch off which 2). As far as i know i am not limited to books and we are starting level 3 |

Human is the better choice, no LA, a bonus feat and extra skill points ..... both which a favored soul lack, and outsider type doesn't benefit a favored soul that much since you'll normally not be able to cast spells like alter self and polymorph. |

Redo your stats some. 36 points is a lot and FS tend to fight in melee a lot more. STR 16 DEX 12 CON 14 INT 12 WIS 10 CHA 18 You need to synergize with CHA somehow by finding some kind of cheeze. 1 soldier of light (if NG) gives turn undead for divine metamagic. 2 gives you divine grace for a big save bonus. I'd shop around in the CO main thread for some stuff to do with your high CHA. |

| #5melil13May 14, 2008 20:30:02 | i dont mind the MAD ... it isnt a power gaming campaign as far as i know. What kind of feats should i look at? I am guessing Combat casting .... power attack cleave/great cleave .... i cant think of anything else. As for lack of wis i guess i could but i have to see what spells require saves (i made a list of spells i want). hmmm ... i dont mind the LA ethier for Asmair but after reading Lesser Aasimar which i am allowed to take i am going for it. But i was mainly interested in the resistances he already gets ... combine with what i get from FS :D. I dont plan on multiclassing ... thats right FS straight til 20 As for stats let me think hmm ... i was hoping of being more caster like with healing buffs and a few attack spells. Then i can just buff my self in case i have to fight myself. but i will think over what you said. Mainly i still need feats |

As for lack of wis i guess i could but i have to see what spells require saves (i made a list of spells i want). Combat Casting = teh suck. Skill Focus(Concentration) is strictly better (and not by much). Power Attack = Ok, but not great. Better choices abound. Cleave/Great Cleave = not worth your time. Basic options include Extend Spell and Quicken Spell. If you need to do healing, Augment Healing from Complete Divine is not terrible. |
| #7wwad_dupMay 14, 2008 21:06:46 | Since a Favored Soul is a spontaneous caster, I wouldn't go the metamagic route, personally. Augemented Healing is decent, so is Touch of Healing if you're concentrating on heals. |
