Feat Retraining

Hey everyone. I have a question about feat retraining.

I want to take a ranger with the feat Wild Cohort at level one. At level 4 I will take Urban Companion ACF to give me a familiar and at lvl 6 I was wondering if it would be legal to trade the feat Wild Cohort for Extra Familiar?

Basically I want to be a mounted archer with two Worgs, one I ride and one to attack. Until I meet the requirements for Improved Familiar and Extra Familiar I would like to take a standard Wolf via Wild Cohort, but then trade it out for my 2nd familiar.

Is this do-able?

Not that way, since you are trading a feat from 3rd level on something that requires 4th level, so that retrain is illegal. I'm on my phone and hate this keyboard; I'll show you a couple ways to do something like this once I get a full keyboard. In the meantime, post your current build and allowed books, please.

Alright my idea for this character is a Goblin Archer mounted on a Worg who will eventually gain a 2nd Worg to fight for him. My steps for doing this would involve taking the Ranger ACF "Urban Companion" (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20070228a) at level 4, then taking Improved Familiar (http://dndtools.eu/feats/complete-warrior--61/improved-familiar--1482/) at 6 to gain my 1st Worg. Then at lvl 9 I would take the feat Extra Familiar (Dragon #280) to gain my 2nd Worg. At lvl 14 I can trade out my Worgs for Winter Wolves!

These Improved Familiars would use my BAB (full as a ranger) and 3/4 of my HP. While I wait to get my 2nd familiar I could ride a purchased mount (Riding Dog refluffed as a wolf) or take the feat Wild Cohort, although as you mentioned this can not be traded for my 2nd familiar so a wasted feat imo.

I also am allowed to take a flaw at 1st lvl but not sure how this can help me pull this off sooner then lvl 9.

Goblin Worg Rider

1st - Favored Enemy (Arcanists)  - Point Blank Shot - Precise Shot (flaw)

2nd - Rapid Shot

3rd - Mounted Combat

4th - Urban Companion

5th - 2nd Favored Enemy

6th - Manyshot - Improved Familiar (Worg)

7th

8th

9th - Extra Familiar (2nd Worg)

This is a quick and dirty example of my idea, I left out alot of the class features rangers gain but i'm sure you already know what they are.

So there it is. I would love to speed up how quickly I get my worgs, and also i've not found a spot before lvl 12 to fit in Mounted Archery. I considered going with druid for this idea but their average BAB would not be ideal. I also considered doing something similar with a full BAB Arcane class such as Duskblade or Hexblade, but i'm just  not sure they suit my idea of this character.

Please feel free to offer any insight or suggestions.

p.s. Allowed any official materiel

ohhhhhhhhhh shhheeeeeeiit.

Lol yea that was kinda inappropriate wasn't it? My bad.

Anyhow I decided to scrap my Ranger build and instead go with Battle Sorcerer into Abjurant Champion. This should make for a much better character, and i'll have no issues getting my two Worgs / Winter Wolves asap.

What do you guys think? Battle Sorcerer into Abjurant Champion, with Improved Familiar, (Worg) and extra familiar. I am a small character (goblin) so I can ride around on my Worg and at 7th level I can gain a Winter Wolf to fight along side me.

I realize that Goblin is a terrible choice for Sorcerer due to -2 charisma racial, but i'm very partial to them. Guess i'll have to suck it up.
