| #4insatiumMar 25, 2008 12:43:14 | The short of it is enemies make saves vs fear (standard Cha-based DC) when you charge/full attack/cast a spell. The long of it? CoC violations are bad. |
| #5thruddiiMar 25, 2008 13:01:00 | so do you think this is a feat for a Paladin of Lathander? Does not sound like it ![]() /thrud ![]() |
| #6skyrocketMar 25, 2008 13:39:51 | so do you think this is a feat for a Paladin of Lathander? Does not sound like it Depends on the backstory or how hardcore you DM is about regional feats. Personally, there are worse feats a paladin could take but there are also better ones. IMO this on is more about flavor. |
| #7hiqkidMar 25, 2008 17:29:24 | I don't know much about Lathandar, but isn't he a sun god? I think it could be good, seeing yourself as a direct conduit of the sun. I mean, being full attacked by the sun would scare me, I know that. |

| #9x-codesMar 25, 2008 18:24:05 | *clicks for cookie* Dreadful Wrath is useful if the HD restriction on Frightful Presence isn't used, because it then gives a -2 to attacks (useful for the Paladin) and a -2 to saves (useful for the artillery). However, if things with more HD than you aren't affected by it, then it's crap. It is also a highly optimizable feat. Since it gives multiple creatures the Shaken condition, you can stick it on an Avenging Executioner and get sudden strike damage for free (this is one rare instance where Ninja is arugably better than Rogue). You'll also cause a massive amount of fear-stacking in the later levels of that PrC, and the low save against the effects barely matter because of how *many* times that save has to be made. If you work with the party Wizard and have him cast Wall of Stone/Wall of Ice/whatever to keep the enemies from escaping then they'll eventually just start cowering in the corners of the encounter area and be very easily finished off. That said, this sort of thing works best in mid-level games or against non-casting NPCs in high-level ones. If there's never more than 1 creature an encounter susceptible to this (i.e. most monsters are undead, constructs, plants, or have fortification/mind blank items/abilities), your character will simply not contribute nearly as much as a character should. |
