Hey all, you may or may not remember me from this thread, based on a Enlightened Fist build. The build is more or less the same, just a few updates. One thing I'm having a problem is the feats.

Which ones?

Well, all of them.

So far, my feat selection looks like this...

Feats:
Human: Open
1st: Open
3rd: Combat Casting
4th: Practiced Spellcaster (Sorcerer) (Bonus Feat from Human Paragon)
6th: Open
9th: Ascetic Mage
12th: Sickening Grasp
15th: Open
18th: Open

Arcane strike is a good choice and improved initative is always solid. You could also go superior unarmed strike, snap kick, and improved natural attack (unarmed strike) if you want to up your unarmed strike damage.

I thought about Arcane Strike, and I guess it wouldn't be a bad addition to the build. The earliest I meet the prerequisite is 9th level with the build, which means I really can't take it until 15th level.

I thought about the Unarmed Strike route, taking Superior and Improved Natural Attack, but the only problem with that is, in how the current build is set up. I don't have a decent base attack bonus until 7th and 8th level (when I get a +3 and +4 respectively) I already have the 9th and 12th level feat slots filled, meaning by the time I meet the prerequisites for all the good feats, I'm pretty well near the end of my leveling career.

In order to make things simple, here is the basics of the build, from 1st to 20th.

Dyne, Lawful Awesome Human
Monk 1/Sorcerer 1/Human Paragon 3/Enlightened Fist 10/Abjurant Champion 5

Level ----- BAB ----- Highest Spell ----- Special
1st -------- 0 ----------- 0 ----------- Monk abilities, Feat, Feat, Stunning Fist
2nd ------- 0 -------- 1st (CL 1) ------ Beleaguered Spellcaster
3rd -------- 0 ------- 1st (CL 1) ------ Adaptive Learning, Combat Casting
4th ------- 1 ------- 1st (CL 4) ------- Bonus Feat: Practiced Spellcaster
5th ------- 2 ------- 1st (CL 5) ------- Ability Boost (Charisma)
6th ------- 2 ------- 1st (CL 6) ------- Ki Strike (Magic), Feat
7th ------- 3 ------- 2nd (CL 7) ------- Fist of Energy
8th ------- 4 ------- 2nd (CL 8) ------- Arcane Fist
9th ------- 5 ------- 3rd (CL 9) ------- Ascetic Mage
10th ------ 5 ------- 3rd (CL 10) ------ Fist of Energy (Burst)
12th ----- 7/2 ------ 4th (CL 12) ------ Hold Ray, Sickening Grasp
13th ----- 8/3 ------ 4th (CL 13) ------ Abjurant Armor, Extend Abjuration
14th ----- 9/4 ------ 5th (CL 14) ------ Swift Abjuration
15th ----- 10/5 ---- 5th (CL 15) ------- Feat
16th ----- 11/6/1 --- 6th (CL 16) ------ Arcane Boost
17th ----- 12/7/2 --- 6th (CL 17) ------ Martial Arcanist
18th ----- 13/8/3 --- 7th (CL 18) ------ Feat
19th ----- 13/8/3 --- 7th (CL 19) ------ Diamond Soul
20th ----- 14/9/4 --- 8th (CL 20) -----

All the feats that are bolded are open, and the other feat slots are italicized.

I'd still like help on this, any ideas?

There are multiple paths I can go through this. The simplest (and probably the most practical) is the Spell Penetration path (Spell Penetration, Greater Spell Penetration, Arcane Mastery) but I don't know how often it will come into play, considering most things either have it (and it's a pain to bypass) or they don't. Also, the build has Assay Spell Resistance, which if something does have that dreaded SR, that might be all I need to bypass it.

I could go the Unarmed Strike route, With Superior Unarmed Strike and Improved Natural Attack, but I don't get that into the really late levels (15-18) where I don't think the few extra die worth in damage is going to matter when I hit it with Scalding Touch or Avasculate.

Honestly, I don't know what path to take, or whether or not it would be a worthwhile investment, and considering I only have so many feats, I can't afford to really waste them. So I'd really like suggestions on which would be most effective.

Two feats I'm really considering is Arcane Strike at 15th, and Arcane Disciple at 6th.
