Any help would be great thanks!

Search for "Fiend of possession" in the Handy Links.
It's pretty hard to do.

Play a Deep Imaskari, with the Otherworldly Feat (Player's Guide to Faerun, Page 41). That nets you outsider type at no LA.

Then undergo the Ritual of Alignment to gain the evil subtype. Its expensive (56,000gp, and 2,240 XP), you are going to have to figure out how to get it cheap cheap cheap to get the benefit of it as early as possible.

Bard 2/Cleric 1 nets you a +5 Will Save and both have access to both Hide and Knowledge Arcana. If you can somehow pull this all together by level 3 (the crux of the problem is the ritual, and it's hefty price), you qualify and can take the first level at 4.

Thank you so for your oh so helpful and witty response..

Shakes head Perhaps I should have stated that I have already looked there and was wanting some ideas that aren't there. Please forgive my tardiness oh helpful one.

Thank you for your response, yes the ritual is a problem because there is no way I'll get the money for that in the campaigns we play..

I was hoping some-one had worked out a way to get in there without the ritual or the +5 LA from Unholy Scion (which would just hurt REALLY badly)..

Kaorti or Abyssal Skulker are other options but 2HD and +2 LA is a tad annoying.. But I may just have to wander down that path..

How about Divine Minion of Sebek? +1LA, Outsider (Evil) type.

Thanks Emy.. Not sure if I will be able to get my DM to allow that but it's worth a try..

So far I have a build of:

Kaorti 2HD and +2LA (bought off)

1. Outsider
2. Outsider
3. Bard
4. Sorceror
5. Fiend of Possession
6. Fiend of Possession
7. Fiend of Possession
8. Fiend of Possession
9. Fiend of Possession
10. Fiend of Possession
11. Fiend of Corruption
12. Sorceror

Feats: Leadership, Mindsight, Silent Spell, Still Spell, Enschew Materials (So I can cast while inside my Cohort)

All the rest will be Sorceror levels unless I choose a Prc.. (thinking Abjurant Champ for buffing) - but I would love to get MoTUH in this build so if anyone knows how to get Telekinesis as a spell-like ability (other than ghost template) please let me know..

Stealing from the Triad of Shadows Thread I'll use a Nimblewright created for 35,000 gp and use Leadership to make it my Cohort..

First, a 1st level kaorti would be equal to a 5th level character. 2 HD levels, and +2 levels of LA, and 1 class level for 5 levels.

Second, Fiend of Corruption requires charm person or monster (as spell, or spell-like ability). And I don't think you have that in your build by that level. You might need another level of bard, or one of sorcerer before the corruption level.

Argh, I wrote a long post and it lost it when I hit preview. Okay quick rewrite

Karoti 2HD
Bloodline 1
Beguiler 1
FoP 1
Bloodline 1
FoP 5
Bloodline 1
FoC 1

Bloodline advances level based class abilites so more magic enchancement from FoP (+9).

Uncanny trickster can be used to further advance bloodlines which in turn advances the magic weapon enchancement, but it is contraversial. If you do push bloodlines by 2 more levels, you caster level will be 6 for beguiler letting you take mindbender for telepathy. Take the mindsight feat from Lords of Madness to see all intellegent creatures in your telepathy range of 100 automatically.

If psioincs are around, get leadership on steriods:

Karoti 2HD
Bloodline 1
Telepath 1
FoP 1
Bloodline 1
FoP 5
Bloodline 1
Telepath 1
Thrallherd 1

You can still mix in uncanny trickster if it is allowed, 1 level of beguiler, and 1 level of mindbender. You can get the hide skill as a class skill at all levels with the Martial stance feat from book of 9 swords. Thrallherd gets new thralls in 24 hours which is much better than leadership. You can get even better manifesting if you take ardent in place of telepath. Pick up mind link through a cheap psychic surgery, take praciticed manifester, and see how the ardent selects powers in teh Complete psions. They can learn higher level powers. Psioncs are mental actions so you dont need still and silent spell like magic.

If you want divine go Ur-Priest.

Karoti 2HD
Beguiler 1
FoP 6
FoC 1
Ur-priest 10

Does not work, it changes existing alignment subtypes to match your deity. So if you have none, you don't get new ones. Take the bladeling from MM2 or the Diabolus from Dragon 327 or dragon compendium volume 1 (both have alignment based subtypes). These have a range of +0 to +1 LA for a total of +2 with the template. You will end up with less stats though.

Sorry for the fast re-write, but I am not typing all that out agian.

Thank you so for your oh so helpful and witty response..

"It's pretty hard to do" referred to early entry (in a manner acceptable by the DM), not the looking things up in the Handy links. *shrug*

Shakes head Perhaps I should have stated that I have already looked there and was wanting some ideas that aren't there. Please forgive my tardiness oh helpful one.

It'd have been a good idea, yes.

The problem with Bloodlines is that, while they are good for funky tricks like that, they set your character back quite a bit HP/save/BAB-wise... Not a problem if you start at high enough a level that you can already possess things however.
I'm AFB, but Kaorti are not so nice as PCs IIRC - they have to make a Fort save every hour or so when on the Material. I have vague recollections of a protective suit...

If you can convince your DM to use the Eberron rules, any evil Outsider can Possess IIRC. It's slightly more limited than the FoP possession but potentially easier to get.

Think Bladelings have been suggested before. 1 HD, +2 LA, IIRC. Fulfills both the type and alignment as well. Again, IIRC.

I must now wonder
If polymorph any object will
ever not work just fine?

3k, twice over, should be sufficient

Sure. Play a neraph, hire a dude to cast it on you twice, willfully fail your save, narrowly dodge LA and racial HD, go home laughing.

As peons say in warcraft, Job Done.

It certainly works.
Do tell us if your DM lets it work. I'll be incredulous, but I'll start mentioning it as a solution (I tend not to suggest stuff that depends on powerful NPCs doing your bidding for a piddly amount of gold ;)).

How much do your players make per person on the average two week adventure? To me, six thousand gold for twelve seconds of work sounds nice. Fine, push it to ten thousand or twelve thousand for two spells. That's still relatively affordable.

Look, why is Mr. Wizard such a dick in his castle, refusing to cast spells? It's not like his spells go away and never come back. This isn't the fifth age. For burning two spells, possibly in two sittings, he makes more than enough to buy a number of new eighth or ninth level scrolls to add to his repertoire. Opportunity cost for the wwwwweeeeeeeeeeezard? ~0.

Or he can Dominate you, take your money and send you off (after playing human chess with you as a pawn, at best a rook).
Good wizards won't, but they won't be keen to transform you into a fiend.

In a CO world, sure you only need to go to a metropolis of size X then you get Y wizards of high enough level whom you can diplomance into casting whatever you want.

I understand what you mean, but for this to work in an actual game you pretty much need to ask your DM to let you take Fiend of Possession early (and not to dispel you later on cause that would suck big time). So IMO it becomes an out-of-game rather than a CO thing.
But I'm getting off-topic.

Levels of play will be 6th level and upwards - that's where we tend to start.. But I have to be prepared in case the DM decides on earlier levels than that

We'll be playing the characters in a few weeks so have a bit of time to do some negotiation with the DM and get it sorted
