He is lawful evil, and can cast a variety of divine spells. He likes to focus on taking his opponents out with his weapon and hordes of undead though. He is also somewhat of a saving throw monster so to speak, and has enough class abilities to make any form of advantage hard to find. Character Creation Feat Selection: Leveling Feat Selection: |

From a story point of view, you could have a character who somehow lost faith in the dark gods that supported them and tried to kill off their gifts by giving themself a poison brainscrub. Deciding to instead steal the spellcasting power would then make sense (and having extensive Wisdom damage doesn't hurt the ability to make that decision). The best standard poison for the job is striped mushroom, which works by ingestion. ![]() You'd have to give up both despot and blackguard spells, but the ur-priest spells should ultimately be more valuable. |

Also the story is intresting, but it could be as simple as a deity tricks a despot into working for him for more power (Tyrants tend to like power) and then is betrayed (deities tend to like to do that for sport). He seeks his revenge by stealing away power from said Deity and then... Well he likes the Bone Knight's armor... From Complete Divine for Ur-Priest entry: "The character must have no ability to cast divine spells. If such spellcasting ability is was previously possessed, that ability is forever forsaken." |

The special prerequisite entry says (at least in my copy): Special: The character must have no ability to cast divine spells. If such spellcasting ability was previously possessed (as with an ex-cleric), that ability is forever forsaken. It doesn't automatically kill off any divine spellcasting you have at the moment; if you currently possess any ability to cast divine spells (as opposed to previously possessing divine spellcasting), you're simply unable to start taking levels in ur-priest. As long as the character has the divine spellcasting abilities granted by his despot and blackguard levels, he won't be able to meet the special prerequisite needed to become an ur-priest. He also has to be trained by another ur-priest, but that's a separate matter. |
