First Psychic warrior build, help?

Apr 05, 2008 1:02:07 I am making my first psionic character and have decided to make at Psychic warrior tank, so please help me to make him an effective tank. Almost any books are allowed, but no Dragon magazine.

Here is what I got for now:
Human 13 lvl psychic warrior.

Str: 16 +1
Dex: 12 +1
Con: 18
Int: 13
Wis: 15 +1
Cha: 11

feats:
Exotic weapon: Bastard sword (PHB)
Weapon focus: Bastard sword (PHB)
Combat Manifesting (expanded psionic handbook)
Shield Specialization (PHB2)
Shield Ward (PHB2)
Shielded Manifesting (races of stone)

Heavy Armor Optimization (races of stone)

Drop: Exotic weapon: Bastard sword (PHB)
Weapon focus: Bastard sword (PHB) (You can use it two handed without the feats, and you don;t even have TWFing... which would suck if you did)

Apr 05, 2008 1:41:18 You should really take the power "hustle" as soon as you can. Extra move actions are extremely helpful.

Also consider playing as an Elan or Synad. You'll be an aberration so you'll be immune to hold person, charm person, dominate person, etc...that is helpful. Also you'll get a few extra power points and some useful bonus racial abilities in either case.

Monk 2/ Psychic Warrior 11

Monastic Training [Psychic Warrior], Tashalatora [Psychic Warrior]

Drop: Exotic weapon: Bastard sword (PHB)
Weapon focus: Bastard sword (PHB) (You can use it two handed without the feats, and you don;t even have TWFing... which would suck if you did)

If you go this route, take pharoh's fist from Sand Storm and Pain fist from PHB II when you can. Take improved natural attack too. Stun/nauseate the most dangerous. Then use hustle + flurry of blows to kick serious butt.

Being an Elan sound like something I could do and then I would proberly drop the Improved unarmed attack, how does that sound in order to be an ekkective tank?

Force Screen + Inertial Barrier + Monks Belt = Stupidly high PsyWar AC. If only there were a Psionic Incantatrix and a Persistent Power Metapsionic feat to preserve some of your dwindling PP.

Apr 06, 2008 14:41:19 Check out Mind's Eye. It has the Mantled PsyWar variant, and Substitute Powers for mantles under the Ardent section.
Effectively pick your own powers, give or take what your DM wants.
You have access to 4th level powers, so Metamorphosis is available, as is Metamorphic Transfer.

No, it doesn't. Thats why the Inertial Barrier power is there.
