OK, I've ever played a wizard before so I thought I'd try out a GOD build
This is just a basic skeleton mostly for class progression and feats. Stats, spells, items etc. aren't included.

Warning, the following build uses some cheese, mainly in the form of the DCFS for extra feats.

GOD

Wizard 1
Otherworldly (level 1)
Scribe Scroll (Wizard bonus)
Snowcasting (human)
Cold Focus (Flaw)
Greater Cold Focus (Flaw)
Iron Will (Othyugh Lair magical location)
Touch of Captivation (DCFS)
Sculpt Spell (Metamagic Storm)
Wizard 2
Wizard 3
Draconic Aura (Energy: Cold)(level 3)
Wizard 4
Wizard 5
Extend Spell (DCFS)
Spontaneous Divination ACF
Mindbender 1
Mindsight (level 6)
Incantatrix 1
Chain Spell (Incantatrix bonus)
Incantatrix 2
Incantatrix 3
Persistent Spell (level 9)
Incantatrix 4
Quicken Spell (Incantatrix bonus)
Planar Touchstone (Catalogues of Enlightenment --> Inquisition domain)(DCFS)
Fatespinner 1
Fatespinner 2
Twin Spell (level 12)
Fatespinner 3
Fatespinner 4
Incantatrix 5
Extraordinary Spell Aim (level 15)
Heighten Spell (DCFS)
Incantatrix 6
Incantatrix 7
OPEN METAMAGIC FEAT(Incantatrix bonus)
1) You tell me. It seems like Snowcasting et al would suffer without Evocation.
2) 3 schools of magic lost is a lot. I'd skip it and be more savvy with positioning.
3) No idea. I'd carry scrolls or leave spell slots open for the random stuff.

1) At level 1 I took the feat Touch of Captivation (grants Charm Person as a SLA) to qualify for Mindbender even while dropping Enchantment because I jut like Evocation better and didn't want to drop it. Am I better of just dropping Evocation instead and trading in Touch of Captivation for another feat?

Or you could just skip the level of mindbender. Don't get me wrong, telepathy is nice (did you know it's a standard action to activate though? - look it up, it's a (Su) ability that does not indicate time required to activate - which by RAW is a standard action) - but Mindbender is hardly a must-have.

2) I really love the Abrupt Jaunt ACF, but to take it I would need to specialize as a Conjurer which means giving up 2 additional schools of magic. I would drop Evocation and Necromancy I guess, but is Abrupt Jaunt worth the loss of versatility?

Nope - Abrupt Jaunt is worth giving up a familiar though. The main benifit of Conjuration Specialization is being specialized in conjuration (as in - the extra memorization slots added through specialization).

If you like evocation - keep it - there are other options. The rule is "Never drop Conjuration or Transmutation"

I would take specialist (conjurer), dropping necro and evoc, then drop enchantment for incantatrix. Abrupt jaunt really is that good.

In a game at the moment I just started a focused specialist conjurer (as I won't be taking incantatrix) and it is very, very good. I dropped the three schools I listed above and have never looked back. Only thing I miss is wall/cage of force, but we all know ways around that!

I don't think focused spec would be too great for you as that would require a 4th school to be dropped, so meh. It is my (and other's here) opinion that you should never drop transmutation or conjuration - conjuration is the best low-mid level school, and transmutation trumps high levels.

With conjuration, you fill most of the blanks from other schools, so I'd have to disagree with GaffeR about dropping 3 (evoc, necro, ench), they're not too great anyway. I'd also rather have abrupt jaunt than a little sack of xp-loss any day.

I think Treantmonklvl20 is right about mindbender; it's cool, but not necessary. Wayfarer guide is a better dip for the slight bump to teleports and the d6 HD (as an aside - I actually dipped wayfarer in a game purely because I met the requirements and had finished incantatrix, but didn't meet any other classes [didn't expect to get to that lvl]. I actually managed to roll a 6 for hp... yay me!)

Oh, also, you asked about dropping Touch of Captivation... I would take spell focus (conjuration) instead so you can get metamagic school focus(conjuration) to help reduce the cost of those twin spells.

Hope I made sense, and good luck

Thanks for the replies, guys

@GaffeR: Snowcasting & co. work for all schools, not just evocation

@Treantmonklvl20: The real reason I took Mindbender is the Mindsight feat because I know the DM likes to mess around with hard to detect enemies a lot. Are there any other ways to gain permanent telepathy that don't require this dip? I would really like to keep this feat.

@Zax: I was thinking about using my remaining feat slots to pick up Easy Metamagic and Practical Metamagic (or is that last one for spontaneous casters only? I'm not entirely sure) to reduce the cost of Twin Spell and maybe Quicken Spell as well.

@All: I think I'll keep Evocation and Necromancy and just use clever positioning instead of losing some versatility for Abrupt Jaunt. I'll probably keep scrolls handy for unexpected situations and won't be taking Spontaneous Casting.

Thanks again for your advice,
Bowen

Ah, I see. No, I'm afraid I don't know any other way.

Be a Bard/Mindbender/SublimeChord? You have ok low level spells, and amazing high level spells thanks to SC. Something about the Bard class just screams Mindbender (in my head...I swear I'm not crazy, you can't hear it too?).

That said, Mindsight + Glitterdust means never having your BDF not know where to attack again. Its a pretty neat trick. I don't know much that can still make passable hide checks while suffering from the -40 from Glitterdust.

If you are really bummed about losing Abrupt Jaunt, grab a pair of Anklets of Translocation. They are SOOOO cheap, and each gives 2/day swift action teleport. Not immediate like AJ, so they won't save you from a random full attack, but they'll still get you out of a grapple just as fast. No attunement period means that after the first pair has been expended for the day, take it off and the 2nd pair are fresh and ready to use. Just put the other pair back on first thing in the morning (when the charges refresh).
