| #1didiggApr 21, 2008 7:02:23 | Hi to all m8s ![]() I would like to know any opinion about this (on my personal opinion) devastating combo: Augmented Casting for a Maximized Arcane Fusion (1 Lesser Orb of Acid + 1 Orb of Acid) + a Quickened Arcane Fusion (1 Lesser Orb of Acid + 1 Orb of Acid). ARCANE FUSION Universal Level: Sorcerer 5 Components: V, S; see text Casting Time: 1 standard action Range: Personal Target: You Duration: Instantaneous When you cast this spell, choose any 1st-level sorcerer spell you know and any 4th-level or lower sorcerer spell you know. Neither spell chosen can have a casting time longer than 1 standard action. Both spells take effect in the order you choose, as if you had cast them one after the other using only one standard action, but you don't expend any additional spell slots to cast those spells. Effectively, you cast two other spells using this spell's 5th-level spell slot. Each of the chosen spells has its normal effect, including range, target, area, duration, saving throw, and spell resistance as appropriate to the spell's level. If either spell requires a material component, focus, XP cost, or other special cost, these must be used or paid as part of the casting of arcane fusion. Ty a lot for reply ![]() |

If you had Arcane Thesis, you could add Split Ray to a 4th level orb spell as a 5th level spell, and do lots of damage. Is this a spell you created, or is it printed in a book? |

I am sorry I do not have my books with me so I can not look it up but, I do not think orb spells are ray spells so this version of split ray mm would not work because the spells must be a ray spell. I may be wrong though, for arcane fusions I usually use an orb for straight damage with something to cause ability damage or slow the creature down, but you could arcane fusion (entangle and solid fog) or (entangle and vine mine)for a very excellent effect. but I do like to use reach spell with touch of idiocy and split ray for double the effect. also against spell casters Arcane fusion is useful to cast your (offensive spell with Dualward) so that you have offense and can use greater dispell against any spell he casts at you as an immediate action. I think that split ray is one of the best metamagic feats out there. (split ray of enfeeblement, split ray of stupidity, split any ray for double potency such as split ray of disentegrate) |

This combination definitely gets a lot of Orbs in the air if that's your thing. Personally, I think there are better spell combos for arcane fusion. |
