| #1cariyagaApr 26, 2008 22:08:46 | Yep, I'm going there. I'm playing in an arena at RPoL, and the DM said, and I quote, "This is the place to test out all your broken builds." So I'm coming to you guys. >_> Anyway. Rules. No spellcasting classes (Including, until stated otherwise, half/two-third casters). I start with an ECL 3 fighter Cohort. (Pimp him, too.) Level Adjustment and Racial HD are allowed. I will level quickly. Plan ahead. ...Go! |

| #3zeratulcraftApr 26, 2008 22:16:37 | Char Ops don't make builds for you, they critique and improve your current build. |
| #4cariyagaApr 26, 2008 22:17:55 | Funny, I believe I saw someone do that a long time ago and get a response. ...Or maybe they worded it differently. How about: An existing level 5 matial build of brokenness? |
| #5rymosracApr 26, 2008 22:26:07 | QFT Char Ops don't make builds for you, they critique and improve your current build. QFT x 2 You probably don't mean to sound rude, but please put some work into your char before coming here asking for the board to hand you stuff. |
| #6bluedsteelApr 26, 2008 22:26:55 | Commoner 20 (with skill focus!) Post a character stub with some information about what you want to do, and we'll see what we can do. Also... how the hell do you have a cohort when you can't take Leadership until lvl 6? |
| #7blargney_the_secondApr 26, 2008 22:51:16 | Swift Hunter. -blarg |
| #8cariyagaApr 26, 2008 22:59:04 | Mm. It's not actually a Cohort. That's just the best way to describe it. I was thinking about being a Vow of Poverty Monk. Can you recommend a race for such a monk? All WotC books are allowed. (Even 3.0, though subject to DM approval.) |
| #9risadaApr 26, 2008 23:07:32 | Mm. It's not actually a Cohort. That's just the best way to describe it. I guess you could cough up more information here. What do you want to do with the monk? Trip? Grapple? Neither? If you put up a little progression you will have some good feedback from the CO. Don't forget: CO is sometimes harsh, but is the best at what it does ![]() |
| #10cariyagaApr 26, 2008 23:24:20 | The only goal in this is to kill. <_< Hmm. Honestly, I'm not sure. Both sound really nice. I'll go with trip. It's simpler. My progression depends on what race I am (Humans get an extra feat, so...), so I'm currently looking through crystalkeep for a good race. So far, human sounds like the best choice. |
| #11astaraelscoApr 26, 2008 23:54:02 | Shaedling Race any class, make weapons with range 10ft more than usual, make potions of enlarge person.. Make whatever the hell you like (if it weighs less than 15lbs)... [Monster Manual V] |
| #12xoraxxApr 27, 2008 7:06:45 | How about: An existing level 5 matial build of brokenness? How about: Loth-Touched Human (LA buyoff if possible) Barbarian 1 (Whirling Frenzy and Pounce ACF) Exrta Rage,Power attack Fighter 1 Improved Initiative Fighter 2 Cleave, Improved Sunder Scout 1 Scout 2(If LA buy-off) Work towards Shock Trooper/Combat Brute/Leap Attack and maybe Improved Skirmish |
| #13tshernApr 27, 2008 7:11:36 | Pun-Punx2. |
| #14alastarApr 27, 2008 7:13:24 | Pun-Punx2. +1 |
| #15lonewolfApr 27, 2008 7:50:00 | Pixie Rogue1 Without casters you will wipe of the floor with any enemies. |
| #16zarzakApr 27, 2008 11:35:44 | Pixie Rogue1 yup. Flying, greater invisibility all the time ... no one will be able to touch you. |
| #17bluedsteelApr 27, 2008 13:03:17 | Pixie Rogue1 This. If you're determined to be a monk, shaedlings are broken. They can also seriously abuse VoP. Githzerai are decent, too... dang good if you get LA buyoff. |
| #18phaedrusxyApr 28, 2008 1:07:56 | I think I'd do a pixie warlock instead of pixie rogue. Get the magic item that boosts your Eldritch Blast damage. Hmm... I guess that would count as a spellcaster. Yeah, I guess Pixie Rogue it is, then. Use flasks of acid, instead of a weapon. Buy a scroll of Silence, and cast it on yourself. |
| #19sirlavandinoApr 28, 2008 6:58:10 | rotfl :D :D :D :D |
| #20zenduApr 28, 2008 11:15:49 | human swordsage? golaith barbarian? |
| #21swiftbluApr 28, 2008 14:49:34 | What's best for a monk is to maximize your number of arms and use flurry, so you can make a ton of attacks. So, play a Thri-Kreen LA 2/RHD 2/Monk 1. This gives you a BAB of 2. Take Multiweapon Fighting as your feat. Now, the errata says you can flurry on each arm if you two-weapon fight with your unarmed attack (also legal), so you'll be making EIGHT ATTACKS. Now, you're making them at a +0 bonus, but hell, that's not important. For your bonus feats, take Stunning Fist and Deflect Arrows. EDIT - Didn't realize that there was another feat in there; take Toughness. This build's only disadvantage is it's fragility. |
| #22indeterminateApr 28, 2008 16:30:13 | Now, the errata says you can flurry on each arm if you two-weapon fight with your unarmed attack It does? |
