Hello all. I was wondering recently about the potential possibilities for my character in a new campaign. I posted a similar thread up a while back, but reposted due to several changes. It's a 3 player campaign, so the DM has decreed we'll be playing Gestalt characters. Starting ECL is level 6, all books are allowed, and pretty much anything goes. Starting gold is 13000 gp, with no more than 3250 spent on a single item. My stats, as so far unnarranged, stand at 16, 15, 13, 13, 18, 17.

As for the character itself, I was set playing a human; not only for the extra feat and skill points, but also the benefit of being able to take the Mark of Making. Also, I like human characters from a flavour context, and I find them suited to the style of character I want to make. Also, I was thinking of possibly taking the Phrenic template in EPH.

As you can see from the title, the classes I'd picked were Artificer and Psionic Warrior. The reason I chose Psychic Warrior is because I wanted to be able to play a character that was able to keep up damage-wise with the other two in the party, a Warforged Knight//Ranger and an Elf Paladin//Feat Rogue. That, and all the awesome psionic goodnes and bonus feats that said class allows. I would also be taking the Mind's Eye variant of the PsyWar that allows me to take a mantle at 1st level, being the Magic mantle, allowing me a complete psionic/magic transperancy, which means I can put powers into wands, etc.

So far, I've struggled to come up with a selection of feats, aside from Least Mark of Making and Attune Magic Weapon, as well as Psionic Shot. I plan to play this character, mechanically, as a ranged combatant, most likely using wands. The reason I'm considering ranged combat is because the other two members of the party are geared towards close combat. Beyond this, and a few basic items, such as Heward's Handy Haversack and Artificer's Monocle, my gold currently remains unspent.

As for my character's future, I eventually want to be able to take the Renegade Mastermaker prestige class in Magic of Eberron, and possibly Master Inquisitive, for flavour purposes. If I do follow the Blasterficer route, I would most likely go into Cannith Wand Wielder after Renegade Mastermaker. My DM has decided to be rather lenient and allow me to count any Psionic Item Creation feat as its magical counterpart, in terms of qualifying for feats and prestige classes. Thus, I could take the Psionic Artificer and still automatically qualify for the Renegade Mastermaker at level 5. Also, I would be allowed to craft pretty much any custom item or warforged components.

Thankyou for persisting with my insistent rambling, and I look forward to any input you might have.

i have only a few suggestions you could consider:

1) i personally would take wilder over psywar together with artificer, since you get a huge CHA-Synergy out of it (and you can completely dump WIS)

2) before you take your first level in either Artificer or "psyonic class" take one level of ranger (or any other full BAB class - maybe warblade?) @1st - thus you will have a full BaB and get tons of Skillpoints out of you first level + favored enemy arcanist (CM)

3)i am aware of the fact, that the missing feats do hurt - but the benefit you get out of ist is worthwhile (+ do you really NEED the magic Mantle?!?!)
