| #1endalosApr 27, 2008 18:21:38 | A friend of mine and I sometimes create characters for the sole purpose of dueling each other (we do not live in the same area so standard roleplay is not really feasible) I am on a general losing streak so far and have come to the boards to ask for suggestions as to what to play to defeat him. Here is the guidelines Gestalt characters Level 10 Point Buy 36pts. Books: Core, Complete Warrior, Adventurer, Scoundrel, Arcane, Divine, Unearthed Arcana (Two flaws, one trait, races, variant classes, bloodlines), Players Handbook II Gold: 49,000gp (No charge items such as potions, scrolls, wands nor items that are generally limited use. Arrows and such as exceptions :P) The arena is a 100ft. pit quite large and the surronding area above the pit is grassland with trees. There is an invisible wall which prevents teleportation etc.. and the land around the place is completely solid (so you can't pass it via etherealness) We will start battle in the pit about 100ft. away without any rounds to prepare ourselves with before hand. Any suggestions as to what effective class to play to defeat him in a duel? |

Master of shrouds at level 10 is probably one of the best I'd probably combine that with druid 10. More buffs for you plus decent wildshape. Make sure your friend doesn't accidently overpower his characters with common gestalt mistakes, like you can't advance the same class twice in any given level. Meaning you can't use a prestige class to advance cleric on one side and take a level in cleric on the other. Double advancement etc. |

We are only allowed one prestige class a level and no prestige class that combines the abilities of two classes (like Arcane Trickster). I looked at the Master of Shrouds build and it might have problems against invisiblity. Looking into a Druid right now |

Have your raven direct your little army towards any/all invisible targets. Hell, make your raven invisible too, Or make use of arcane eyes. your a caster. You have many spells which combat invisibility. Just use them. Dispel Magic is a low level spell . . . Edit: Hmm, if you want to be rather cruel and unusual, use metamagic Smiting Spell on shurikens. Put Shivering Touch and. They don't negate each other. Reduce his Dex to 0. |
