| #1badgerx3Jun 11, 2009 20:00:32 | A friend of mine is running a gestalt campaign and I'm hopping in mid-game it seems. I need suggestions on combos and overall builds Party consists of: Fighter/sorc paladin/fighter/something else(he got a 3rd since fighter/pal isn't that good) Fighter/rogue ranger/rogue (plans on becoming an arcane archer) (we may get more members as time progresses) <.< No, it isn't a core game, my fellow players are indeed that stupid Stats I rolled were 17 17 17 17 17 16 18 All material(even from 3rd party sources) are okay, this including Dragon and the like. The party level is currently 9 |
| #2jgumbyrxJun 11, 2009 20:41:49 | A friend of mine is running a gestalt campaign and I'm hopping in mid-game it seems. I need suggestions on combos and overall builds I guess it depends on how much you want to throw-off party balance. No matter what, your party seems to be a little short on spell support, and really heavy on bashers and rogues. Are there any build limitations? (e.g., PrC advancement, etc.) well, I generally take the K.I.S.S. approach: you could do a true CoDzilla -- cleric/druid. thow in "natural bond" and a level in Beast Master, and you're your own party. or, try psywar/druid -or- psion/druid -- the psionic feats and powers can really work well with that. (expansion + wild shape = bring the pain) ranger+rogue=arcane archer um... okay? |
| #3jason23Jun 12, 2009 0:35:54 | i'd recommend a wizard/druid... its a nightmare managing all the spells but its fun to play and with those stats you don't have to worry about focusing.. |
| #4minstrelinthegalleryJun 12, 2009 7:59:23 | If you are a druid you are wasting all those perfect stats! Go cleric and...swordsage, maybe mix in factotum. maybe not Turn into godzilla and smash up the city...with manuvers! |
| #5noldorforceJun 12, 2009 7:59:29 | I'll second Psychic Warrior//Druid, considering the extreme usefulness of the buffs available in addition to the Wisdom synergy. |
| #6revan54115110Jun 12, 2009 11:37:46 | Well i have found in this types of campaigns Warblade / cleric (the type that commands undeadDomains war & death) with spontaneous summon feat can be real fun for you can start any battle off as the Necromancer with some Strong undead up front with you standing back using white raven tactics an then go to town on them in mopping up. |
| #7blightersbaneJun 12, 2009 12:14:42 | Druid natural casting, rapid summoning, augment summoning, imbue summoning (never took this feat but ? possibilities), feat for better wildshape? feat for bigger & badder wildshape? forgot name? As for a second class the Psychic Warrior does have several usfull powers and feats: buffing natural attacks, inertia armor, force scree & precog D to defense etc etc BUT its 3/4 BAB as is your Druid so for a buffing, summoning wild shaping and charging into battle everythings great right up until the limited BAB comes into play. At 5th level the Psion destroys the Psy warrior in powers know and power points, and power diversity, and has 2 feats wheres as thr psy war has 3 feats....you already have the 3/4 Bab so why? some good build possibilites, if its not just core 1) Druid / Monk with Vow of Poverty!...just a guy in a worn out robe nothing to look twice at; at 9th level flurry of blows = no minus for multiple attacks! a great movement and wis to AC + all the other goodies. 2) Druid / Scout or rogue, good all around saves, evasion, uncanny dodge + more. Skirmish with the pounce ability adds damage on all attacks after you wildshape, charge in and maul the heck out of the BBEG, and at 5th level you qualify for improved skirmish = +4d6 to each attack after you run 20' + 3 AC, how many attacks does a dire lion have again? 3) Feat ***** or maybe a better name feat junky: progression 1 Ranger /Psion 2 Ranger / Psy Warrior 3 Fighter / Psy Warrior 4 Monk / Fighter 5 Monk / Psy Warrior 6 Monk / Fighter 7 Monk / Psy Warrior 8 Monk / Fighter 9 Monk / Psy Warrior (or 1 level elocater ver good "dip into" class) fighter = 3 feats Monk = 3 feats Psy Warrior = 3 feats Psion = 1 feat Ranger = 1 feat (two wep fight or rapid shot) human = 1 feat 9th level= 4 feats with your stats (which are incredible) this guy is a chainsaw exotic weapon -spiked chain, combat reflexes, imp initiative, imp trip, imp disarm, wep focus, wep spec, psionic weapon, greater psionic weapon, deep impact (monks natural attacks count as either a weapon or natural which ever is more beneficiary for the monk so unavoidable strike not nec + it would limit the attack to only natural), power attack, feat that x2 instead of x 1.5 strength damage with 2 handed weapon, forgot name?, two wep fighting, imp two weapon fighting...oh boy you know theres a lot more you can do. expansion power = large size +4 to trip and disarm, spiked chain is a 2 handed weapon = +4 to trip & disarm, imp trip and Imp disarm = +4, great threatened area, spiked chain gives a +2 to both, doesnt it? Inertia armor +4 to AC vigor mind thrust force screen |
| #8blightersbaneJun 12, 2009 13:12:10 | saving throws you say? alrighty then! 1) Hex blade / rogue 2) hex blade / rogue 3) hex blade / rogue 4) fighter / rogue 5) Paladin / scout 6) Paladin / scout 7) Paladin / scout 8) Paladin / scout 9) Paladin / scout base saves.....................8 / 8 / 6 18 dex,17 con 24 cha =....+3....+4.....+7 paladin +7 all saves.........+7....+7.....+7 robe of resistance +2.......+2...+2......+2 ...................................20....21......22 lets say you have 18 cha, at 4th and 8th level you add both to cha = 20 then you get a cloak of cha +4-I think would be reasonable = 24 (+7) max skills = nice! power of personality = cha instead of wis for will saves improved uncanny dodge improved evasion mettle basically at 9th level unless you roll a 1 your going to make all of your saves and all those spell that cause secondary damage your immune to as mettle is basically imp evasion for fort and will saves!!! oh and you heal 35 points a day (lay on hands) |
| #9blightersbaneJun 12, 2009 13:24:01 | cont from above build... ...just get 2 elven thin blades, two wep fight, improved skirmish, get your self keen on both or imp crit combine with telling blow, the feat that gives +4 to confirm crit, stand back and watch your full melee crit 25% of the time add your 2d6 sneak and 4d6 skirmish to all crits...not earth shattering but 15-20 crit with both weapons and imp two wep style = a good chance once a round your gonna crit!
