I wanted some lieutenants for the PCs to tangle with before they get to him. I've settled on vampire raptorans with 8 levels of shadowsworn (a base class from the book of roguish luck; those 8 levels have 3/4 BAB, 2 dice of sneak attack, +60 feet of darkvision, a shadow familiar and a summon shadow ability, plus some minor spellcasting.) and if this was a normal game, I'd be done. Problem is, it's a gestalt game and I need to figure out what to do for the "other side" of the build. I want these guys to be formidable, sneaky, and able to capitalize on their ability to fly well. Any ideas, anybody? I'm suffering a bit from "DM's block." |

Personally, if it's going to be a flyer, I adore Dragonfire Adept with the Dragonlance Campaign feats that let you strafe your enemies with a double move plus a 60-foot cone as long as you're moving in one direction, but it has the problem of making your 2d6 SA worthless. Or you could go warlock, since SA will work on an Eldritch Blast, plus you can get them some other interesting abilities. |

They can bolster themselves to prevent turning, control more undead, inflict to heal other undead, and cast utility spells to buff themselves and cover weaknesses, like casting a darkness spell, so it's not direct sunlight. Stack an inflict spell on top of the sneak slam for extra negativity! Take the trickery domain for invisibilty, use silence, and sneakiness becomes easier. |
