| #1RunosAug 30, 2009 18:33:00 | I'm in the process of trying to a specific character. Is there only forced shared pain which shares the damage dealt to me to an opponent. also getting a rage like ability when obtaining their blood. If anyone can help with create a build plz post. Needs to be Min lvl 20 gestalt character. Also I want him to be very skillful with a scythe( or if there is a triple bladed one). The Scythe have a metalic cord of some sort or i can use as a ranged attack but also to be able to retrieve it. The Scythe i would like to be able to draw blood and have some really cool abilities like . So far i'm going to be forcing on the tome of battle stance immortal fortitude so that i can't die due to damage and i link the damage i take to my opponent. I was thinking taking the feats Stoneguard Warrior with Robilar's Gambit. If anyone has ideas or suggestion please let me know. |

Crusader would be good for the good bab as well as the delayed damaged pool. Maybe some telekinesis powers for the moving scythe. ---- Also the whole point of the character with the scythe is that he only needs to make a touch attack to succed on the cursing. Thus you are going to need the ability to easily make touch attacks. |
| #4RunosAug 30, 2009 22:18:16 | The link failed but what were you saying about the blood ritual how could i achieve this |

Your grammar definitely needs work, I'm not sure of everything you're trying to say here. However, I can lend my help to the things I do understand: If you want to be able to go into negatives and not die, an alternate to the abovementioned stance is the Frenzied Berserker. They gain the ability "deathless frenzy" where they do not die as long as they are frenzying. The Knight also gains the ability to put off death by expending uses of his "Knight's Challenge", which is also useful for provoking enemies into attacking you. The Crusader's Damage pool is a way to get bonus damage and to hit based off of the damage you take while simultaneously shielding you from dying instantly to that damage, but it caps off at like, 30 points or something else low and thus lame. As for retribution for attacks, Robilar's Gambit is a good way to start the retribution, especially in conjunction with Stoneguard Warrior. There's also another, similar feat to the Gambit called Karmic Strike (or something, I forget the exact name) which does not increase the damage you take (like Robilar's) and only allows an AoO on a successful hit on you, rather than any attack. As for throwing the scythe, four levels in the Bloodstorm Blade grants you the ability to throw anything, as well as an improved version of "returning" which allows your thrown weapons to return immediately, allowing a full-round attack to be made with a single thrown weapon. Additionally, it grants you the ability to burn a certain kind of manuever to allow your ranged attacks for one round to be treated as melee attacks. |
| #6RunosAug 31, 2009 0:52:03 | sounds good. Is Psionic Forced Shared Pain the only ability i can use to link damage from myself to them. And if so what feats can i get to improve my touch attacks to deny ac to hit almost all the time. Is there any other ways to be able to go into negatives and not die. |

As I said, there are three ways to go into the negatives and not die: Knight, level 20. He can consume one use of his "Knight's Challenge" per round to survive at HP amounts lower than -10. Gains 1/2 Knight level + Cha Modifier uses of the Knight's Challenge per day, which means it's a minimum of 10, plus a few items and you can easily get it up to 15-20, which should be enough to cover most combats for a couple encounters per day. As an added bonus, these Knight's Challenges can be used to provoke enemies into attacking you. Crusader, any level. Gains a "Delayed Damage Pool" known as Steely Resolve which stores up to 30 HP (at 20th level) damage until the end of his next turn. This allows the Crusader to technically function at damages up to -40, as long as he gets himself up to -10 before his turn ends. As an added bonus for your build, he gains bonuses to hit and damage based on this pool, which can aid a retributive feel. I suggest using one of these (Either Barb 10 / FB 10, Knight 20, or Crusader 20, knight's probably the best since it lets you provoke) on one side of your gestalt, with various supplementary things on the other side, such as enough Psionics to use the abovementioned Psionic Pain transfer type ability, a couple levels of fighter for feats, a couple levels of Warblade for Stormguard warrior, maybe a few levels of Bloodstorm Blade to be able to throw your scythe effectively. Probably the best I could propose would be Knight 20 one one side and Wilder 5 (enough for Forced Shared Pain, plus Wilder over Psion so you use Cha, which you are already using for the Knight's Challenge), Warblade 8 (for Thicket of Blades, to improve the number of AoOs you can make, as well as the requisite stances for Stormguard warrior and Bloodstorm Blade, plus two extra feats), Bloodstorm Blade 4 (to autoreturn on throws), Barbarian (Lion Totem) 1 for Pounce, Fighter 2 for 2 extra feats. Featwise you gain 7 from leveling, 1 from being Human, 2 from fighter levels, 1 from the Bloodstorm Blade, 2 from the Warblade, and potentially 2 from flaws, for a total of 15. Featwise you need to take Pointblank Shot for the Bloodstorm Blade, and Extra Rage could tack on some damage if you want to take advantage of the fact that you've got a barb level. Ironheart Aura is needed for Stormguard Warrior, which takes two more. Combat Reflexes + Robilar's Gambit takes two more, and Combat Expertise, Dodge, and Karmic Strike is yet three more, which is 8 in total so far. Have fun with the other seven I guess. |
| #9mervin_magnusSep 01, 2009 21:27:41 | i just suggested this on another build, and probably fit well here as well |
| #10wildfire393Sep 02, 2009 12:38:22 |
A couple problems with this: The Ur-Priest requires that you do not worship any god, and the RKV requires that you worship Wee Jas. Most (smart) DMs would rule that these two PrCs are incompatible, and taking one would eliminate the ability to take the other. Also losing the Knight doesn't let him go quite as negative with the Pain Sharing. |

Whow, that's a bad build suggestion.
|
| #12mervin_magnusSep 02, 2009 20:17:51 | Ok, IM SORRY CO BOARDS FOR SPAMMING UR GESALT BUILDS WITH DUAL PROGRESSION PRCs!!! |
| #13RunosSep 02, 2009 22:05:44 |
I agree we need to model him very well. I was looking at all ur suggestions and Ur-priest seems like its fits it but what benefit do i get really from this class in terms of spells that would be more beneficial then putting them in another class? Also How do i get pounce for lion totem barb because i couldn't see it in the SRD |
| #14RunosSep 02, 2009 22:44:18 | I also was thinking wondering if i should put more lvls into Wilder for better chances of using Forced Shared Pain. |
| #15RunosSep 02, 2009 23:21:30 | No its completely fine about ur spamming my boards at least ur reading my forum post and replying. I do like you guys ideas. |
| #16wildfire393Sep 03, 2009 1:40:46 |
If you do use Ur-Priest 2 / RKV 10 you get level 9 Divine spells AND level 9 maneuvers, which is pretty damned powerful. Also the Lion Totem is in the Complete Divine. It's a first level Barbarian substitution that gives you the ability to make a full-round attack at the end of a Charge instead of a bonus to move speed. It's pretty much a must-have for any remotely melee Gestalt Build, and a lot of melee builds in general.
You could, but it'd probably necessitate cutting out something else you'd want to use, like the Bloodstorm Blade that allows for your excellent scythe-throwing potential. |
| #17RunosSep 03, 2009 22:51:29 | Hey thank you for all your ideas. i decided to take Feat Wise: Intimidating Rage(needed for FB), Combat Reflexes, Robilar's Gambit, Stoneguard Warrior, Ironheart Aura, Overchannel, Talented (for Forced Shared Pain), Psionic Meditation, Destructive Rage(needed for FB), Cleave(FB), Pointblank Shot(BBBlade). I have 5 regular feats and 2 psionic feats i need to pick up. If you guys have any ideas or suggestion please let me know. Once again thank you all for your inputs. |
| #18RunosSep 05, 2009 3:07:49 | Anyone have an good suggestions which other feats i should go into and What abilities i should enchant my scythe with. |
| #19wildfire393Sep 05, 2009 16:26:42 | The problem with using the FB and not the Knight or Crusader is that the FB cannot use anything requiring concentration while Frenzying, which would include any Psionic Powers. The Knight, on the other hand, can. What this means is that you're forced to Frenzy after you've initiated your FSPs, and if your targets all get out of range of the effect, you're stuck not using it.
Some feats to help this build though: Instantaneous Rage (so you can activate Rage/Frenzy as an immedaite action and avoid getting raped by surprise before your Frenzy is active), Extra Rage (so you can use Rage as well as Frenzy), Power Attack (required for Cleave, so kind of a no-brainer), Karmic Strike (more AoOs, but requires Dodge and Mobility so you'd have to lose one of your other feats to take this). |
| #20RunosSep 06, 2009 2:29:42 | Yea the only problem is my character is going to be evil so the eliminates Knight and i'm still going to be getting the stance that i would get from crusader. There isn't many ways to be able to not die with negative hps so. And i already have Power Attack. In terms of not being able to cast psionics, i will have my psionic buffs before i go into frenzy. Any other Suggestions please post. |
