| #1ionSep 13, 2008 17:36:55 | I am building a Gestalt Paladin type character for a game set in a homebrew setting. The basic concept is a champion of good who will do everything in his power to save you, but if you cross the line, he is going to hunt you down and destroy you. This build has some holes in it, and I'm not sure what the best way to fill them in is. All books / dragon magazine are good. We are allowed to take two prestige classes at once, and we are allowed to change some flavour prerequisites to prestige classes (there is no We Jas in our setting for example, so that isn't a prereq for Ruby Knight Vindicator) So far, on one side of the build I'm thinking Crusader 5 / RKV 10, and on the other side Oriental Adventures Shaman 5 / Prestige paladin 3 (strategically placed to replace the missing caster levels from RKV) OA shaman is per the update in the Dragon Magazine, and they are allowed to pick from all Cleric Domains as well as Shaman Domains, and allowed access to all Druid and Cleric spells to choose from. So my question: What should I do with my remaining levels? I have 12 levels left on one side, and 5 left on the other. I am debating trying to put some swordsage and Master of the 9 in there, but that leaves me really feat starved if I wanted to try DMM as well. Which I suppose really means I need to decide if I'm a caster who also has some kick ass martial ability, or if I am a martial adept who also can cast up a storm. So what's do you think? Is Crackdown / Lockdown the way to go with this? What domains should I pick? (I'm looking at the Shaman domain Hero and maybe the one from complete mage where you can pick arcane spells...) |
