Is there any magical item or ritual or graft that adds the dragonblood subtype for a wizard? He is a human wizard 8, going into the blood magus prc, and I wanted to get him that blood items set from MiC, but I also don't want to twist RAW to get it to work for him.

Dragontouched - feat from Dragon Magic Page 19

I know no other way other than changing races (you can be 'reborn' as a dragonborn or a spellscale, but that has some side affects, see RotD for details).

Feat retraining may be possible, if your DM lets you do it to pick up Dragontouched.

There is also the relatively expensive ritual from Savage Species, that can make you anything you want to be (though at higher levels, Ex immunities for less than 100k is a bargain).

Silverbrow Humans (from Dragon Magic p. 6) grants you the Dragonblood subtype.

Might want to ask the DM if you can change to that.

You could also use UMD to pass for dragonblooded for the Barbs.

Dragonborn is the easiest method, as long as you have the right alignment.

Does this even work for subtypes?

None of that helps you all that much. The Blood set only works for a Sorcerer, and nothing else, RAW. Having the subtype improves it, but it's still rather bad unless you're a Sorcerer.

EDIT: Rereading it, the Bands of Bloodrage and Barbs of Retribution do work for you. I'm just used to the Blood Claw Choker, since it's the best.

UMD lets you emulate a race - just pick a dragonblooded one.

@CantripN: it can't be the best since it only works for sorcerers. ;)

Seriously though, losing a few HPs to force a save re-roll with a penalty is fantastic.

Worst case scenario, splash a level of sorc and grab draconic heritage...
