Gnome Soulknife Help?

Apr 16, 2008 22:10:36 We're starting at 4th level, and I'm looking for some assistance in pulling off an effective Gnome Soulknife. Any starter directions or tried-and-true tips would be greatly appreciated.

DON'T BE A SOULKNIFE!

Not to spit on your dreams or anything, but IMO the soulknife is possibly the best conceived and worst executed class... ever.

Apr 16, 2008 23:22:49 They're annoyed because you didn't put in any work on your own before coming to us. Until you show us you're willing to work on your end, you're not going to get a whole lot from this end (and, in fact, some will be down-right rude).

That said, I think it's entirely appropriate to ask for a starting point, provided you don't expect us to wave our hands and build your character entirely. To do that, I'll provide a link to the soulknife handbook, which should allow you to put together a build we can then build off of.

There is no such thing as an effective gnome Soulknife.

Soulknife is one of the two worst classes in the game, even worse than Monk. And it's a melee character, which makes the gnome a bad choice.

If you're DETERMINED to do this, go stealth. Be a whisper gnome (Races of Stone); take the Silencing Strike feat to deal with casters..

It's a build of a tenth level soulknife that PrCed into soulbow, a attempt to make it a "little" better.

Check the feats that are useful with the build. I think if you're gone to have a useful soulknife you gotta take this class.

(i'm kind bad in optimizing however )

But if someone better could give suggestions on how to improve the damage the build linked does you could have a pretty build.

Apr 17, 2008 0:34:25 Another option is to head into Kensai to get more enhancements onto your mindblade, if you can get your DM to okay it. If you pick up enough +1d6 damage boosts you can somewhat make up for the class's lack of power. BAB's still going to be a problem, though.

Apr 17, 2008 8:27:34 Soulknife is just a horrible class. How to improve it? Well, IMO there's no way to fix it with PrCs or feats, so people usually use homebrew "variants" of it.

Having some experience with that, I wouldn't reccomend it either.

Try another class.
