Hey all, I was just wondering if anybody knows any good feats for a gnome paladin?

I'm playing an all Pally Campaign, and I chose to be the odd ball and became a gnome paladin :D . Also our DM has a rule for that 3 skill points buy you a feat. so thats cool huh? Also we are high powered too, lol :D .

I have read the paladin handbook and some feats, so here's what I thought of. I want to be more defensive to protect my allies.

so here are some feats i thought were good, tell me what you think?

Martial study/stances: (devoted spirit)
Combat Focus
Combat Stability
Divine Might
Divine Shield
Divine Vigor

I was also thinking that since I'm a gnome I can get the substitution levels in 'shadow cloak knight'. However, if i do that i won't get turn undead and some feats require that. Also the feats i mentioned above, some I won't be able to obtain because of some prerequit. So I was thinking of getting power attack and improved sunder in the meantime. Also what are your thoughts of a good weapon for a gnome?

here are my stats. after all adjustments, our DM gave us +2 to any stat, so i cancel out my penalty on str, lol.

str: 14
dex: 14
con: 16
int: 14
wis: 16
cha: 17

Thanks for your time and I appreciate any help.

Gnomes make good paladins.

Since you're small sized that means your mount will be medium sized which means that it can go places large sized mounts can't go. Because of this I would recommend the mounted combat chain of feats.

If you have the chance for a lot of feats, you may want to check this build out.....

The Melee Killer Gnome (I may be Tiny, but you're dead!)

The mount suggestion is a really good idea too.

Thanks! guys! Awesome suggestions, I definitely will go for the mounted combat feats, but how about if I want to be a badass tank and kick some major ass and be a strong defender? Any suggestions? Thanks! :D

I wouldn't worry too much about defense. Once you get ride-by attack you shouldn't be too exposed to attacks.

Your first feats should be power attack, mounted attack, ride-by attack, divine might, spirited charge, and battle blessing.

I'd also swap you int and wis scores. Since you get feats for 3 skill points the extra feats will be more valuable than the extra wis.

Your best bet for weapons will be a lance for mounted combat and a glaive with armor spikes if you're ever not mounted. Small-sized weapons get reach too.

Seriously....read the link I gave you. It's all about an amazing build for a melee gnome that is awesome, though you may have to exit paladin at some point.

Oh cool, thanks ninjarabbit, for the suggestions about the feats and weapons and stats. I really appreciate it, maybe i'll go the mounted way :D. Also thanks FeloniousEla for the melee build link, it was awesome, I did read before my first reply. However, I forgot to tell you why i feel, its not going to work for me. The reason is I notice lots of it deals with dex stat and fighting creatures two sizes above me. I'm going to be fighting most likely large of course, but what about medium guys, and I'm a paladin, we are all paladins, Heavy armor right? So I'm thinking it won't work for me that well, some feats yeah, but not full effect. I was just wondering for a defensive gnome paladin, and the link you gave me was more different classes in mind. I have to start as a paladin and I think i want to stay as one. So i guess i have to go with the mounted feats huh? Because I guess there's no really good feats for a badass tank gnome defensive paladin? Thanks for everything guys :D , you've been awesome

Where does it say Paladins have to wear heavy armor? ;)

Also, the key is to get a permanent Reduce Person cast on ya, or a ring or item that does the same thing. This way you are constantly Tiny, and even Medium is two sizes about you...also enhances your Dex, AC, and attack bonus even more. By the table in the DMG, the cost of a continuous ring of reduce would be 8,000 gp.

Either way, just thought I would expand on that a lil. Good luck, man.

If you're not planning on using DMM Cheese and have other ways to remove disease. I've always preffered a Paladin which can vanish from the naked eye:

Shadow Cloak Knight Substitution Levels Hide in Plain sight, Invisiblity...
