Apr 05, 2009 13:34:38 if you take a two level dip into chameleon from races of destiny you get access to essentially every invocation of a lower grade the highest you can use.

Apr 05, 2009 18:27:45 I really like going escalation mage, from magic of eberron, lets you use spell craft checks to add metamagic feats for free and its only six levels long.

so my warlock build is

warlock 5/escalation mage 3/binder1/hellfire lock 3/escalation mage 3/warlock 5.

and if you take improved binder you can get the bind that lets you heal one point of ability damage/drain around, so every round you can blast the extra hellfire damage.

Binder is a base class from tome of magic.

If you take the spell like metamagic feats as well, you can really throw around some really powered up invocations around.

so my warlock build is

warlock 5/escalation mage 3/binder1/hellfire lock 3/escalation mage 3/warlock 5.

and if you take improved binder you can get the bind that lets you heal one point of ability damage/drain around, so every round you can blast the extra hellfire damage.

Binder is a base class from tome of magic.

If you take the spell like metamagic feats as well, you can really throw around some really powered up invocations around.

Actually, Escalation Mage requires CL checks, not Spellcraft checks.

Binder (Naberius) + Hellfire Warlock is an excellent combo. You can also use Shape Soulmeld (Strongheart Vest) + Hellfire Warlock. I like the later mostly because spending a feat > spending a level, although if you can go with the spell-like adaptation for Anima Mage the Binder level is really good.

No, the extra level of warlock would not increase eldritch blast damage, and you want 9th level wizard spells so you have to finish off by advancing wizard.

You should make not of Human Paragon there. It helps qualifying for lots of prestige classes.

I love Cyran Avenger for Glaivelocks. You will need some way to get you Survival as a class skill, though (Human Paragon works just fine). Warlock 2/Human Paragon 3/Cyran Avenger 5 looks pretty nice.

Rauther (from Races of the Wild) may help you out more in that type of situation.

I disagree. Ruathar does not get a bonus feat or +2 to a stat and it has a fixed skill list. Also, you can only get into Ruathar at 5th level.

Warlock3/Wizard3/EldritchTheurge10/WizardPRC4

For Eldritch Theurge, you don't need both Warlock 3 and Wizard 3, you could drop one of those levels (probably Wizard) for a PrC and then go into Eldritch Theurge. The problem that I see, however, is that there are very few PrCs that a Warlock/Wizard can get into as a second level Wizard that still boost caster level at the first level of the PrC. With the books I have, Wild Mage and Frost Mage appear to be the only two; though with more materials, there are probably some more valid options.

I disagree. Ruathar does not get a bonus feat or +2 to a stat and it has a fixed skill list. Also, you can only get into Ruathar at 5th level.

It would depend upon your needs. Caster levels tend to be important, missing one as a paragon human is certainly a downside to the class. Some spellcasting classes can qualify for Ruathar at 5th level, getting into the PrC at 6th. For other classes, the BAB and skill requirements mean that it cannot be entered until 7th level.
