| #1destindbombApr 03, 2008 21:36:04 | I came up with Beasthide Shifter build that I think has a decent chance of being good and I wanted the CO people to maybe help out with a few pointers. We are allowed one flaw. Everything marked with an asterisk is a bonus feat. Every book is available, even most Mongoose Publishing stuff. Here's what I have so far: Mnk1---IG*/Scorpion's Grasp*(flaw)/Shape Soulmeld (Girallon Arms) Mnk1/PsyWar1---Psionic Fist* Mnk1/PsyWar2---Wpn Focus(grapple)*/Scorpion's Resolve Mnk1/PsyWar2/Fighter1---Expert Grappler* Mnk1/PsyWar2/Fighter2---Improved Initiative* Mnk1/PsyWar2/Fighter2/Ranger1---Track*/Beasthide Elite Mnk1/PW2/Ftr2/Rngr1/Weretouched Master1 Mnk1/PW2/Ftr2/Rngr1/WTM2---Shifter Savagery* Mnk1/PW2/Ftr2/Rngr1/WTM3---Bonus Essentia Mnk1/PW2/Ftr2/Rngr1/WTM4---Extra Shifter Trait*(the one that moves quick) Mnk1/PW2/Ftr2/Rngr1/WTM5 Mnk1/PW2/Ftr2/Rngr1/WTM5/Warblade1---One Armed Grapple Mnk1/PW2/Ftr2/Rngr1/WTM5/Warblade2 After this I was thinking of finishing Ranger to 20, taking the Complete Champion ACF that takes away spells and gives more feats. I'd end up taking the TWF tree which isn't great that late in the game, I understand, but it gives me a small option when I can't grapple. Expert grappler adds my Dex and my Str to my grapple check, not just Str. One armed grapple is from the book "Beyond Monks" and I'm afb so I momentarily forget what I can do with it, but essentially I can hit someone with an off-hand attack without a penalty on the hit, but I'm at -10 Grapple. It'll allow me to use maneuvers in a grapple. I was thinking that maybe I should take Swordsage instead of Warblade, so that I can wear some armor, since I'll lose my dex vs. non-grappled foes. However, if I do that, and finish with full BAB classes from there on, I'm still down a total of 5 BAB. Regardless, I really want to get Stone Dragon maneuvers and the stance that lets me constrict. My Psychic Warrior levels are there so that I can get Expansion and Grip of Iron. I know they errata'd the Weretouched Master, but my DM uses the book over the errata, so the bear is what I'm gonna take. I've already checked out the "Short Guide to Grappling." That's where I got a lot of ideas from in the first place. I just chose to go with a little bit different combination of race/class/feats. Basically (after my long-winded rabblings) I just want to get a good idea if this build is any good, and what I should do with this next. Any and all help would be great and appreciated. I'm pretty set on the first 5 levels, but after that, some things can change. thanks again for your help guys |
