| #1justinkossowFeb 26, 2010 12:20:00 | I had to give up my artificer because the DM told me that I beat DnD... I wanted to try something new so I was thinking a character that does all grappling and drags enemies aroung the battlefield. The big thing im missing now is a playable race that has improved grab, I took it for granted at first that I could get it as a feat. I was playing as Thri-Kreen, having 1 level in monk, 1 in psychic warrior, 2 in monster and the other 2 LA comes from the race. It gave me enough for Improved Unarmed Strike, Improved Grapple, Multigrab, and Greater Multigrab... But I go back and look that Thri-Kreen doesn't have improved grab.... Any advice?? |

Its effectively a Monk with Monk Unarmed damage, Wis and Dex to AC at lvl 2, you get Improved unarmed strike. Its pretty much a monk with flamey fists thanks to Desert Wind maneuvers. Toss in Shadowblade and yourself. Consider getting Reaping Mauler from Complete Warrior. Feral Template will do wonders for you as well. You get Imp Grab, Rend, Pounce and one other I cant remember. Their is a spell that allows you to turn into a lycanthrope out of Relics and ritual's. Orb of Belsemers blessing I believe. Its an Orb or sphere with the spell cast on it. You can turn into any lycanthrope once per week, so for one week you can be a bear, next week a bat. I think thats it. |

Reaping mauler has a prerequisite feat that you don't qualify for if you aren't medium or small size, thus if you grow larger you don't qualify for the feat or for the PrC. |

And thus, to stay in the Grappling PrC, you have to purposely make yourself worse at Grappling. It's a really bad idea. Not as bad as a Karsite Wizard, but still a really bad idea. |
| #6waazraathFeb 27, 2010 8:37:08 | Does't the feat scorpion grasp from sandstorm do what you want? |
| #7justinkossowFeb 27, 2010 9:41:26 | Actually, I think scorpion's grasp fix that problem thanks Waazraath... As for the Kreen, I am using a 3rd party program to do all of the dirty work and create my character, I don't think it is working right for the Kreen, psionic and regular both require 2 monster levels and a LA of 2+, what book can I find them in??? |

Monster Manual 2, Expanded Psionics Handbook (psionic version only), Savage Species (yet another psionic version and also the nonpsionic)... That's where I can remember them. |

Take Human Heritage, and you are considered a humanoid so you can still be affected by Enlarge Person. This gets +6 Str and Large size (HUGE with Enlarge Person). I like Cleric 4 with Competition and Strength domains. Competition gives +1 to all opposed checks (such as grapples) making up for the loss of 1 BAB, and Strength gives +4 Str 1/day and Enlarge Person (Huge size!) and Bull's Strength as domain spells. Bear Totem Barbarian 1 for Improved Grab and Rage (Complete Champion) or Bear Totem Barbarian 2 for Improved Grapple and Rage (Unearthed Arcana). Psychic Warrior for Grip of Iron, and Practiced Manifester lets you just dip and still augment for a higher bonus. |

Human Heritage gives you the Human subtype. You're still a Giant, which is all Enlarge Person cares about. On the other hand, a Psychic Warrior dip can nab Expansion, which doesn't care one whit about the manifester's type. |
| #11justinkossowFeb 28, 2010 17:57:59 | I would be able to live without it, but anyone know Pounce that I can take as a feat... I know there is a barbarian totem with it, but I'm lv 6 and I need the psychic warrior levels for expansion and iron grip... Also looking for feats to extend my reach, I only see ones that work for limbs without bones or that take feats to complete. I am using Thri-Kreen |
| #12snakeman830Feb 28, 2010 19:28:39 | There is no Pounce available as a feat. Failing Barbarian levls, the best way to get it is taking more PsyWar levels and grabbing Psionic Lion's Charge. Likewise, there are no feats that extend your reach (other than Exotic Weapon Proficiency for a reach weapon) without prerequisite feats. The closest you get is Inhuman Reach which only has Aberrant Blood and Humanoid as prerequisites (the last part is the kicker: Thri-kreen can't take it). |
| #13samasboyFeb 28, 2010 21:11:27 | Doesn't work. Human Heritage gives you the Human subtype. You're still a Giant, which is all Enlarge Person cares about. Umm....yes it does. Benefit Seems pretty clear to me. |
| #14snakeman830Feb 28, 2010 21:15:36 | My bad. I didn't look at the feat before posting. |
