I'm back again after asking for help with my evil cleric. Sadly he was killed by some dread blossoms and now im making myself a druid (ironically).

I've got most of it down but i want to take greenbound summoning as a feat, but the problem is i'm so lost on how people calculate health, attack bonus's etc etc etc to summoning Nature's Ally's and im not sure how to mess with the states from the Monster manual and apply the greenbound and how to switch things up.

I've found two different lists that have some monsters calculated and what not but they differ from one another so if i wanna try this calculation stuff myself i was wondering if anyone could help me figure this stuff out or send me a link of a reliable list of SNA monsters augmented to the greenbound template.

Thank you.

The calculation is exactly the same no matter what the creature is; whether those lists you found followed the rules or not is up in the air. But the basic formula is: Average for all HD (which for you is 4.5 * HD, since the template forces all critters to use d8s) + (HD*Con mod; Greenbound gives +4 Con, which changes this) + (Other modifiers such as Improved toughness). Attack bonuses are unchanged from the base animal (except insofar as Strength is changed) because the template expressly says so. And so on.

Seriously, just go step by step through the template on a creature and it will all click. I'd prepare it yourself using only the animals you are likely to summon.

So doing the formula you states 4.5 * HD (which is 8 i think?) + (HD * 5) gives my Dire bat 76 hp. Now im level 3 and that seems a bit much for a single dire bat even with the greenbound. So does the HD actually mean how many like for example the dire bat has 4d8 HD do i do 4.5 * 4 + 4*5??    Edit: I've done a few tests and i've found out that it really is the NUMBER of HD * 4.5 etc so sorry about that.

and another thing that changes alot between the 2 is with same example is the BaB of the dire bat is +3/+10 grapple. one list gives the Bite attack a +8, while the othr gives it a +11, when the original non messed with bat has a +5 to bite but a +3 to strength mod. so my calculations a base Dire bat should get +6 to bite due to +3 str and +3 BaB = 6.  Edit: I've just looked up the BaB of monsters and now i understand that large get a -1 to their attack so again sorry about my ignorance lol.

Grapple i still dont understand although im starting to get the hang of the rest of the stuff. a Dire bat has a base +10 Grapple so adding the +6 to strength would make the strength 23 giving a +6 mod. so would that mean the new Grapple is a +13 or higher?
Edit: Yeah again i did calculations and i feel i know how to work this as well etc.

Guess the last question id have is , since i havnt seen it anywhere else, Can a Magical beast such as a hippogriff be Greenbound?? i know elementals cant be greenbound but i dont know the rules on magical beasts etc.

Let me take a stab at things:

New hp = old hitpoint + [step difference in HD +2]xHD:  "step difference means if a d6 goes to d8 its +1, if it goes from d10 to d8 it is -1]

New Attack = old attack +3 (if STR based attack) or +1 (if DEX based)

AC = old AC + 7 (+6 natural +1 increase in DEX mod)

I think this may cover some of your biggest problems although it isn't 100% accurate.

A Greenbound Dire Bat would have:
HD: 4d8+20 (38) [30 normal +2x4 HD for CON increase]
AC:  27 (-1 size, +7 Dex, +11 natural), touch 16, flat-footed 20
BAB/Grab:  +3/+13
Attack:  Bite +8 (1d8+9)  [this is counting STR modifier x 1.5 for damage][note the Dire Bat is large for -1 attack]

So much Editing going on:

The normal grapple would be +3 BAB +3 STR mod +4 special size modifier.  With another +3 STR mod it should go to +13.

A "greenbound creature" is an acquired template that can be added to any animal, fey, giant, humanoid, monstrous humanoid, or vermin (hereafter referred to as the base creature).

Does a griffon qualify as an animal?  I don't think so which means it would not be allowed.

sorry about all the editing lol, , and ah okay i didnt see the 'added to such and such' part of the template ill make sure to look out for those creature types along the way so i dont mess up, thanks for pointing that out. Alright now i feel that im more better off using this feat and my druid then when i first started this thread. Thanks all who helped clarify!!

if theirs anything im missing that i should know please go ahead and say so, want to make sure im doing this 100% right.
